There is no question that Leona Lewis is an extremely talented singer. "Glassheart" is an album that seems to portray a darker ambiance (mood) than her previous albums. The songs for the most part are good in spite of the fact that (in my opinion) there is a lack of a good hit single. "Lovebird" is one of my favorite songs with a nice melodic hook to it. "Shake You Up" is interesting because it's a different type (style) of song than Leona usually sings.(Leona can "sing the phone book" and I would like her to try and include more variety of styles on her albums.)
The main motive in "Favourite Scar" is definitely sampled from another song but I couldn't recall the title. Thanks to Shelley who replied to my original post, I can tell you the motive was sampled from the song "Head Over Heals" by Tears For Fears.

"Sugar" (on the bonus disc) is a catchy song with an infectious melody.

It's a mystery as to why the album hasn't been released yet in the USA. I think it's because they want the album's release to coincide with the US tour dates.(Of course this is only my speculation based on various articles I have read about the album.)

In summary,"Glassheart" is a good album (better than her last effort) but I wouldn't consider it a masterpiece. The songs have a dark ambiance and are enjoyable to listen to. Leona's vocals are great and that's what makes the songs sound good. The album (in my opinion) needs a good hit single so it can obtain more radio play and public recognition.

Leona Lewis's third studio album Glassheart is in my opinion the best album she has put out yet. With a excellent blend of both her signature mid tempo & ballad songs mixed with electro-laden and club ready songs. The best songs on here are the ones with high beats per minutes. The album opens up with the midtempo and solo verison of the song "Trouble" which starts the album off in a good direction. But it's the uptempo electro-ballad fourth track "Come Alive" that really kicks the album off in a new direction away from typical Leona style but keeps up with the substance of her other works. Track seven "Shake You Up" which is another dance track drop the electro for some bass me then is followed by "Stop the Clocks". It both nine and eleven that are the albums real standouts. "Favorite Scar" which is track nine, heavily samples the 1985 song "Head Over Heels" by Tears for Fears effectively rendering it sounding both familiar and fresh. And then track 11 which is the title track "Glassheart" which is a electro heavy dance. Both the acoustic verisons of "Glassheart" and "Come Alive" sounds just as beautiful if not even more than the originals and are among if not the best ballads on the album. Overall great album one which has been in heavy rotation since I got it.

Leona Lewis' third album "Glassheart" is what we've come to expect from her, for the most part. Soaring ballads showcasing her amazing yet devastated-sounding vocals. "Fireflies" starts off a tender piano ballad before percussion, strings and choir crash and sweep in with Leona reaching for some amazing notes near the end. Brilliant! "I To You" is a haunting ballad with heavy beats. Other nice ballads are "Favourite Scar", "When It Hurts", and "Fingerprint", but there are also some typical dull Leona ballads like "Un Love Me', Lovebird", and "Stop The Clocks" dragging things down a bit.

If the album comprised just these songs, this would be another typically average Leona album. However, she steps out of her comfort zone on Lead-single "Trouble", a lovely meeting of Trip Hop strings, Hip Hop beats, and on the alternate version at the end, an excellent rap by Childish Gambino. The song is co-penned by Emile Sandé. "Come Alive" is laden with ghostly harmonies, moody electronica, and breakbeats. The Darkchild-produced "Shake You Up" shakes things up with a catchy Disco bridge. Title track "Glassheart" is House meets Dub-step. "My heart was beating, And so was yours, We threw each other, Down on the floor" she sings through the buzzing and juddering song and it works like a charm. More like these in the future Leona.

This is her best album! I can listen to this album all the way through. I hope that it will be released in the US because people need to hear this.

Now this is a Leona Lewis i can get behind! Glassheart is much better than Echo in my opinion. Midtempo ballads are what Leona needs to stick to and there are plenty on this album.

1. Trouble - is a good lead single and the remix is good as well. I really like this song, but I left wanted more at the end. 8/10

2. Un Love Me - is a 'classic' Leona ballad. Love this song. Her voice songs great on this track! 8/10

3. Lovebird - if this song is released as a single it could be huge, just like Bleeding Love was. 9/10

4. Come Alive - the 1st uptempo song on the album. This song really grew on me. I like the lyrics. 7/10

5. Fireflies - this is a gem! Absolutely amazing! from the lyrics to Leona's vocals! The music, the piano, the gospel choir feel! Everything about this song is great! 10/10

6. I to You - this song is okay. Good beat. 6/10

7. Shake You Up - "can you turn the music up a little bit please" Another up beat song. Love this song just makes me want to dance around the room! Fun song! 10/10

8. Stop the Clocks - another midtempo love song ballad. 7/10

9. Favourite Scar - good song, 7/10

10. When It Hurts -you can feel Leona's emotion on this track! not to mention her vocals are amazing 8/10

11. Glassheart - i love this song! up beat, dance track. 10/10

12. Fingerprint - 'classic' Leona. Goopy ballad yet as always her vocals are on point! 7/10

Over all, this is a great Leona Lewis album! I never really bought her albums but this album is something i can get behind! If you're a Leona fan you must get this album! She comes in heavy with bass and drums all over this album. Her vocals are on fire! Only thing I'd change is that she needs to enunciate. Sometimes its hard to understand what shes saying.

Unlove me is my favorite :) Do you know when the US release date is though? I've looked everywhere and can't find out. It won't let me buy the UK version :(
