Excellent (and one of the very few) glassing video(s)., November 1, 2002
This review is from: "Glassing 101 with John Carper" [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I believe that when this video was first released that it was the only one of it's kind. But fortunately the producers didn't act like Microsoft and dish out any old rubbish, this video is quite informative.
My sole reason for purchasing this video is that I plan to start manufacturing surfboards, but I would recommend it to anybody who surfs.
The video istelf is broken down into three main parts, glassing, hot coating and sanding and covers each part quite well.
It is also produced at JC Hawaii, and from what I've seen these guys have a pretty good idea of what they're doing.
My only regret is that it showed how to cut tail laps for squaretails (roundsquare?), but not pin, swallow or round tails.
Otherwise definitely worth checking out, and it will make you realise how much work there is involved in producing your board.

Awesome video for surfboard glassing!!, September 12, 2000
This review is from: "Glassing 101 with John Carper" [VHS] (VHS Tape)
"Glassing 101" takes you to the final steps in the art of surfboard shaping. John Carper and his assistant craftsman teach step by step the basics of laminating surfboards, sanding and configuring your fin layout. The video is an excellent resource for the first timer. It makes you want to go shape your own surfboard!! The cinematography is never static, so the camera agles are always showing the important details. Lots of zoom angels and viable perspectives that make you feel like your in his glassing factory. I watched the video twice and I feel like an expert glasser already. John Carper does it again!!
