5.0 out of 5 stars Glastonbury Tarot: Timeless Wisdom from the Isle of Avalon, April 7, 2000
By Ceridwyn Pheryllt (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This book is a gold mine of practically lost information. It has little known myths and information about the legends of King Arthur's time and has a unique mix of Christian and Pagan archetypes from the period. The artwork on the Tarot cards is a surprising blend of present day and ancient concepts with well known characters as the subject on some of the cards. The artist utilizes a mystical method of painting actual backgrounds from the spiritual sites in Glastonbury and other related places in Europe. There is a special spiritual feel to this set that won't let you down. It is the one Tarot book I have actually read through, not just used for divination! and enjoyed the reading! It also has some unique spreads I have never seen before. If you are interested in the medieval times, this is a wonderful tarot deck to own. Just out of curiosity, I called my local Waldenbook store and not only did they not have it in stock, they could not even order it. Amazon.com is THE place to get it. This is definitely an item worth owning. Ceridwyn Pheryllt seawitch@forcomm.net

5.0 out of 5 stars sumptuous feast, April 12, 2002
Lisa's deck succeeded where all others have failed with me. I am able to remember the information about each card (I have a poor memory) because she packs so much symbolism into each image. Not only that but the energy she so obviously poured lovingly into each card shines so brightly as to burn their meaning into my very soul. I love the jewel-like colours, the way she portrays Avalon in both verdant and subtle hues, so adeptly conjuring up the soul-poetry and magic of this landscape and it's many and varied inhabitants. If I diodn't live here I would want to after seeing this fabulous deck which I would recommend to anyone who loves Glastonbury with it's profound mystery and soul-poetry... and to anyone who loves the Tarot. A rare treat.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Deck!, December 12, 2000
By A Customer
When I bought this, there were no pictures on the item description page, so I was not sure what I would get. The topic alone was reason enough to add this to my collection. When I received this, I loved it immediately. The colors are vibrant, but the images are very soft. There are also lots of stories that give real background into reading with these cards. I would not buy this deck and book alone for your first set, but it is not too difficult for a second deck at all.
