What is glaucoma?,
By J. Cameron-Smith "Expect the Unexpected" (ACT, Australia) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Glaucoma: A Patient's Guide to the Disease (Paperback)
Dr Trope has published three editions of this book: the most recent edition was published in 2004 and represents a significant expansion of the earlier two editions. The definitions of the disease and other facts are presented in an easy to follow question and answer format.
The book is organised into the following parts: I ALL ABOUT GLAUCOMA II TESTS FOR GLAUCOMA III ALL ABOUT TREATMENT IV GLAUCOMA SOCIETIES (relevant to Canada, the UK and the USA) The most common treatments for glaucoma are outlined in this book. It is interesting (to me, at least) to note that some of the drug treatments mentioned in the first edition of the book as being under development are now readily available: I am receiving one of them. The question and answer format will suit many (if not most) patients. I would recommend this as a starting point for those who want to understand glaucoma without being overwhelmed by medical jargon.
