the nicoderm system is meant to be done over a 10 week period where you progressively reduce the amount of nicotine taken into your system until you no longer crave it at all. i didn't follow the system exactly. i wasn't trying to spend 10 weeks quitting smoking so i started with step 2, used it for 2 weeks and went "cold turkey" after that. As i write this i'm 4 weeks in and haven't had one drag of a cigarette and haven't been on the patch for the last two weeks. I've even been out to the bars and clubs, surrounded by smokers and was still able to abstain. If you don't really want to quit smoking, then don't bother spending your money on the patch, it's not a fix all, but if you really do want to give up the habit and need a little something to help keep your cravings and keep you from being overly irritable, i'd highly recommend giving it a go

I have tried other products, this one works. The thing is, you get it home and read through the instructions and it suggests an 8 week quit smoking program... I only used the patch for 4 days, and then I stopped using it and I have not smoked since.
The thing about quitting smoking is that once you make up your mind to quit, and you know that you will, this AID will work. Bottom line. The rest is easy, just simly resist the urge. I took up a light excersize program while I was quitting, and I have been smoke free for a month now.
This was the best choice to help me quit.
I had tried similar patches and cheaper patches, but, this patch is the right one, and it works. It has worked for everyone I know who has used it and it worked for me.
And I was a moderate smoker with several years as a smoker and it still worked.
But, READ ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS, and get serious, and pick the day a few days or weeks in advance as your quit day and stick to it.
This patch does not come off even in shower, or swimming, and curbs most cravings. Plus, you can sleep with it on. Step # 2 is for 10 cigarettes a day or less.

I started smoking about 4 years ago. Up until a few months ago, I wasn't fully motivated to quit. One day, it hit me that I was ready to quit, but I decided I needed a helping aid. And they were successful! I am just over 2 months clean now and feeling wonderful. I smoked around 8 cigarettes daily, so I decided to start with step 2. These patches really truly helps satisfy your cravings! I would have had a hell of a time trying to quit without these. The thing is, you have to ACTUALLY SERIOUSLY be ready to quit. If your not, well then these would be a waste of money. In my experience, the first few days were the toughest. I bought two boxes of these, which was a total of 30 patches- 1 for each day of the month. I only personally needed to buy two, and I am no longer purchasing them. But this will be different for everybody, so if it takes you longer or shorter, so be it!
Its important to differentiate your physical/mental cravings, recognize them, and then let them go. Accept that your mind WILL think about smoking, then forget it and think of how much money you'll save & how much healthier you'll be! Also, smoking is a nasty habit so you'll no longer be embarrassed everytime you take that smoke break at work.

Im still using the patch, today is day 11. that is 110 cig. Not smoked. I started with step 2 because I smoked for 14yrs about a 1/2 pack more or less a day,depending on my day. Read more
