Editorial Reviews

The coupling of funky Crescent City guitarist Earl King with the East Coast-based Roomful of Blues wasn't exactly made in heaven (the band excels at jump blues; at second-line beats, they're fairly clueless), but it did mark the beginning of King's heartwarming comeback as a recording artist. King's songwriting skills were certainly in fine shape: "It All Went Down the Drain," "Iron Cupid," and "Love Rent" were typically well-observed originals. ~ Bill Dahl, All Music Guide --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!!, April 29, 2011

This is one of my favorite CD's.... it seems roomful of Blues and Earl King are meant to be together. The blues at it's best. Whenever I listen to this it's like a warm embrace.

Well, some people may not know it, but real Blues is supposed to sound like it comes from a bar. Ron Levy and Friends bring the bar to you in this top-notch collection of Blues originals. Buy this cd, put it on, and drink a beer. You'll be glad you did.
