This review is from: Gleason Grading of Prostate Cancer: A Contemporary Approach (Hardcover)
Absolutely excellent book with abundant illustrations and clearly spelled out rules which ALMOST completely conform to D.F. Gleason's original paradigm. Deviations from same are clearly identified as such and rationale is given. Concise yet thorough with a reasonable approach which doesn't seem to deviate from mainstream practice (although it should be stated that I'm NOT an academic uropathologist). Really an excellent treatise. Nicely done.William W. Hoover, MD, FASCP, FCAP.

This review is from: Gleason Grading of Prostate Cancer: A Contemporary Approach (Hardcover)
The textbook correctly describes the various gleason patterns of prostatic adenocarcinoma concisely with subdivisions (e.g. 3A, 3B, and 3C). The cartoon caricatures and color photographs are excellent. The description of the gleason patterns with the multitude of color photographs is the books strength. It is a great help when confronted with greater than three patterns. It also discusses other tumors and many other things. It is must have in a pathology library. I use it often and it is the textbook I use when diagnosing difficult cases.
