I am going to start out saying that I love Glee and it is probably my favorite show ever on television (next to Friends, of course). Enthusiastically, I bought this product along with the soundtracks, DVD, shirt, etc. I was convinced this compilation of sheet music from Glee were in the arrangements used in the television show and soundtrack. My highschool child was planning to put together a performance group to learn, choregraph, and perform Somebody to Love in the style of Glee, but when we got the book it only included the original Queen arrangment. All of the songs are in their original form, not in the style of Glee. So if you are just looking to expand your music variety with random songs, this book is for you. But if you are looking to buy this book because you would like to have the music in the Glee arrangments (Girl/Guy Mash-up, glee's performance of Somebody to Love,the group arrangment of Dont Stop Believin with the "Da's", etc.) this book is NOT for you. It is simply a collection of songs used on the tv show, put together in a book. Long story short, I returned my package, unhappy with its content and the lack of this information included on Amazon.

For anyone who might not know, this is a Piano/Vocal/Guitar book. I'm not musical so I don't know if songbooks include all 3 or not. I did a lot of searching before I ordered it to find out if it was only vocals & thought this information might help someone else.

This is a gift for my daughter. After Christmas, I'll update my review with her comments.

UPDATE: I noticed that Amazon's title/description of this songbook has been updated to include the information in my review. Previously it read 'Glee: Music from the FOX Television Show'.

For those wondering if this book has SATB vocal arrangements, my answer would have to be 'no' because that term is not printed anywhere in this songbook & the arrangements do not look like the sample given by Media Man in the comment section of this review.

This book with the title "Glee" on it is absolutely ridiculous! The only thing "Glee" about it is the title and the fact that the tv show did different versions of the songs with completely different arrangements in different keys! They may as well call it "Songs that you may or may not need if you have some time to rearrange them and transpose them into what you wanted in the first place!"

Depends on what you are looking for. As other reviewers pointed out, this book contains the sheet music for the original [easy piano] version of each song, so if you expect to see the unique arrangements heard on the show, you'll be disappointed. Also, the sheet music is not consistent in key or in difficulty. That being said, I like this songbook and frequently play from it. It is a convenient compilation of 14 songs heard in the first season of Glee.

I like having the songs themselves to play in an easier version. I have a hard time finding songs like "Imagine" and "Defying Gravity" in an arrangment were I can play it myself. So for that reason I like the book. I want to get the other books in the "Glee" series for the easy arrangments.

Most of the music is remakes of old songs, many classics which are hard not to like. Of course when you have a group of loser kids who become heros singing songs the kids love it. I personally could not watch 5 minutes of this stuff. They took the Fame model and made it singing instead of dancing.

Other reviewers lament the fact that the arrangements are not the arrangements used on the show and they are, in fact, correct. However, this does not mean the book should merit a low rating. On the contrary, unless that is your specific expectation, this book should rate highly. I bought the book because I like the songs inside and as a beginner piano player, I wanted some easy music for songs that I could get excited about learning to play. This is my first fake book and I love it. The notes are large and bold and have the letters stamped into the note which makes reading the music easier. The chord is listed above the treble staff so no deciphering of the chord in the bass clef. I have since purchased two other fake books and the EZ play format is exactly that and my favorite format of all. I gave it four stars which for me is a very good rating. I would have given it five stars if there were more songs in the book as the cost/song is more expensive than some of the other fake books you will find. I am sure I will spend hundreds of hours enjoying myself banging out these tunes!

I was very disappointed when the book arrived....it was not what I thought it was. To those of you are who thinking of buying please do not.

This is great!! It has the real versions of the songs and not the glee versions!! Very pleasantly surprised and a wonderful collection of songs for my budding guitar playing daughter!
