My library categorizes this as "teen non-fiction", and it reads like it was written by a teenager. A giddy one. There are grammatical errors, plenty of gushing, and there's too much speculation about future plot lines. The cover states that this is a "totally unofficial guide to the hit tv series", but it's NOT a guide to the show. This is a book that provides background info on the show, and mini-biographies of most of the cast members, in chapter form with an annoyingly immature narrative style (the author is 24, I'm 23, and I think I could have done a better job with this book, honestly). I was expecting something along the lines of a full-color episode guide- perhaps something that started with character and cast bios, proceeded into episode guides with track listings and peppered with trivia tidbits. The book is divided into chapters. There is very little trivia or behind-the-scenes info. There are only two thin inserts of color photos, and most of the pictures shown there are from press parties and similar situations. I can't remember a single picture from any poignant or pivotal point in the show. There is a track listing for season one's episodes in the back of the book, but some of the songs are missing and some of the songs are incorrectly credited. On the whole I found this book to be very disappointing. Surely someone out there could produce a better guide to this show- it's popular enough. I am kind of disappointed that I had to wait for months to get this from the library.

I couldn't even get through the pages describing how Lea Michele got the job to join the cast of Glee. And she is my favorite girl from Glee, both her character and in real life.

I am a total Gleek and have all the Glee books. This one is full of fun information about TV's hottest show. It only covers Season 1, but it still has a lot of interesting facts about the actors. A fun read and reference guide to read until Season 3 of Glee begins this September!
