Book Description

April 19, 2010
Kirstie Drummond faces an uncertain future and difficult choices - should she marry the insipid Findley against her heart's desire, or become a hostage to fortune? When she runs away to the Highlands, her strange and striking beauty begins to attract men from miles around. And the Highlanders believe Kirstie's family has a cursed history. Prompted by their talk, Kirstie sets out to discover the truth about her father's family, with shocking consequences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ripping Yarn by a Lady, August 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Glendraco (Paperback)
This is one of my all-time favorite books by one of my all-time favorite authors. Laura Black has a great talent for vivid characters. Her Kirstie meets all sorts of adventures: scenes of romance, oppression, depression, heartbreak, grief, bravery, suspense, gaiety, and terror, all deftly, and many times unexpectedly injected with comedy. A great read!

just put in this review to agree with another reviewer that Glendraco is one of the best scottish romances ever written. Makes all of the newer ones seem dull and derivative (other than Diana Gabaldon, whose books are even better).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent from start to finish, March 25, 2004

This review is from: Glendraco (Paperback)
This is a fabulous read! I have read it at least ten times and it never fails to keep me spellbound. Laura Black is truly a lost treasure and it is a shame that she is out of print.
