Book Description

August 1, 2003
Few people in the last half century have influenced choral music as profoundly as Glenn Draper. His remarkable career as a world-famous music director has transformed the style and sound of choral singing in both the sacred and secular arenas, and his enduring legacy of Christian devotion has touched the lives of thousands upon thousands of singers and audiences across the globe.

In Glenn Draper: His Music Changed Lives, the director shares his amazing life story. From his childhood in Roanoke, Virginia, Draper's passion for music was a driving force. Equally strong was his commitment to the Christian faith and his promise to dedicate himself to the work of God. The result is an incredible journey filled with adventure, humor, and miracles. Glenn's friends and former students—many of whose lives were forever changed because of their involvement with Draper and his choirs—have shared their own memories and anecdotes throughout the book. A special photograph insert features rare family pictures and colorful images from fifty years of concert performances.

Adoring fans have treasured the music of Glenn Draper for years, but now they can truly appreciate the man. More than the life story of a much-beloved individual, this book is an inspirational tribute to a servant of God who felt the call, saw the vision, and said, "Here I am, Lord. Send me."
