About the Author

Lee Martin's most recent books are The Bright Forever (Shaye Areheart Books), and Turning Bones, part of the American Lives Series at the University of Nebraska Press. He is also the author of Quakertown (Dutton, 2001), From Our House (Dutton, 2000), and The Least You Need to Know (Sarabande Books, 1996). He directs the MFA program in Creative Writing at Ohio State University.

Kerry Neville Bakken's collection of stories, Necessary Lies, won the G. S. Sharat Chandra Prize for Short Fiction and will be published by University of Missouri-Kansas City s BkMk Press in 2006. Assistant Professor of English at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

Robert Schirmer's short-story collection Living with Strangers won the Bobst Award for Emerging Writers and was published by NYU Press.

Samantha Schoech's stories have appeared in ZYZZYVA, the Gettysburg Review, the Sun, Seventeen, and other journals and magazines.

Jean Colgan Gould is the author of Divorcing Your Grandmother, a novel, and Forty Years Since My Last Confession, a memoir, as well as the editor of two anthologies: Dutiful Daughters and Season of Adventure. She has been Writer-in-Residence at Hollins University, Fellow-in-the-Novel at Wesleyan University, and Resident Scholar at Northeastern University.

David Borofka teaches composition, literature, and creative writing at Reedley College in Reedley, California. His collection, Hints of His Mortality, won the 1996 Iowa Short Fiction Award. His novel, The Island, was published by MacMurray & Beck.

Ken Kaye's books as a psychologist include The Mental and Social Life of Babies and Family Rules.

Manuel Muñoz is the author of a short-story collection (Zigzagger, Northwestern University Press, 2003) and the recipient of an NEA fellowship for 2006. Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill will publish his second collection in early 2007.
