We got this dollhouse for my daughter's 4th birthday. My husband and I put it together together in less than an hour, although 1 person probably could have done it. It's pretty sturdy and my 1 year old can pull up to standing on it without it tipping or moving. The top of the elevator catches on the 2nd story floor unless you slide it up just right, but other than that, it's great. The furniture is sturdy but it's nothing special. My daughter uses Barbies in the dollhouse so we got a few of the Barbie glam accessories which fit nicely. I love that the dollhouse has open space. I almost bought the Savannah dollhouse because it's so pretty, but the rooms are split up by the stair case, so you can't move things around as easily. I'm really happy with this purchase. I got it from Babies RUS for less money than on Amazon though, so check around for prices. All in all it gets a lot of use and my daughter loves it!

Gorgeous!!! This dollhouse is big, but not too big. The rooms are nice and roomy for her dolls to move around. But the biggest plus (besides being very pretty) is that it's STURDY! Take a good look at the instructions though, because they are quite minimalist. My daughter helped me organize before I started assembling it by separating all the different screws into baggies that she marked with a sharpie, ie 1 baggie maked A with those screws, baggie B with those screws, etc. And here's a tip: don't tighten things too much as you go, because some pieces will be difficult to attach if you do - and you can always give a final tightening all around when it's finished. They provide you with an Allen wrench, but you'll also need a small Phillips screwdriver. Anyway, it's so much sturdier than the big plastic dollhouse we also considered. And we have no problem with the elevator - if you leave a tiny bit of wiggle room instead of tightly screwing the side sliders it'll be just right. The furniture is pretty and colorful and she's also using a Groovy Girls chair that matches the decor! Hours of fun - couldn't be happier - this is a fabulous dollhouse!

My daughter doesn't really use this for dolls as much as she plays with rubber toys in it so there are other options. This dollhouse would have been perfect for Jem dolls twenty five years ago. My daughter has my old Jem dolls, and this totally looks like a house Jem would live in. On the other hand the setup was a pain but it was worth it. I made a couple mistakes but the screws easily come out, and I was able to fix it. The instructions were not that hard but a colored picture would have been better. For being $89.99 on sale at Toys R Us I won't complain. This purchase keeps her attention, and was worth it. I noticed during setup that the screws were different, and I didn't realize an allen wrench was supposed to be used for those screws at first. If you don't tighten the screws with it the dollhouse will be floppy. No problems once I had it all put together. With no help it had taken me about three hours to finally put together. Now for all this work I wish I could by the extra furniture for it but it looks like it is on sale because they are not planning to sell it again. My daughter enjoys playing with this perfect birthday gift. Also use WD40 for the elevator crack, and it will slide without problems.
