This set is a pretty good deal, the paring knife is basically a freebie. The knives (and Global knives in general) are superb. Not only are they beautiful to look at, the Japanese (rather than German) design and materials make them extraordinarily sharp, precise and light. For heavier work, say with bones, keep a German knife around as well. Minus one star for the handles being too slippery for my taste, although I figured they'd be more slippery than wood or plastic before I bought them and went ahead with the purchase anyway.

Just trust me and buy them! Well balanced, light weight and sharp as you will ever need.

These knives are amazing. They are really sharp and easy to hold! Great knife set, every kitchen should have a Global Knife!
