Set comprises of 7" Asian cook's knife, 8.25" carving knife, 8.75" bread knife, 5.25" utility knife, 4" paring knife plus stainless steel counter top storage block with block dots on side of block (G4, G3, G9, GS3, GS7 AND G835BD). The thin and razor sharp Global blade allows the cook to cleanly slice through foods, preserving the integrity of the ingredient and maximizing its flavor. The majority of Global knives are ground to a straight point rather than the western style of beveling the edge. I've used various brands of knives including Chicago Cutlery, Farberware, Cuisinart, Wusthof classic but none of them can compare to Global knives for sharpness retention, balance, weight (very light compared to "German" knives)and durability. Those other brands would either stain, rust or give me a painful wrist after using them. After 5 years of using my Global knives, I'm still amazed by their beauty and lightweight. They are a bit pricey but if you want a knife set that will give a lifetime of pleasurble use and still look like new, Global knives are the ones to consider.
