Book Description

January 1999 1568023685 978-1568023687
Threats to the earth's flora and fauna, water systems, and atmosphere have been recognized by scientists and conservationists for more than a century, but it is only within the past three decades that nations have begun to address these issues on a global scale.

The Global Environment -- a timely collection of original essays -- presents an overview of the development of international environmental institutions, law and policies, and assesses their effectiveness in protecting the global environment at the end of the 20th century. Distinguished international contributors include leading academic experts on environmental politics, international law and diplomacy, and sustainable development policies.
