I am a recent patient for DS surgery. I have tried EVERY type of Calcium Citrate out there. I have tried pills, liquids and lozenges. The pills are the size of a small child and petites are the size of a short thick child. The liquid is bitter and difficult to find. The lozenges aren't bad, but you must take 12 a day to get the right amount of calcium. Then I tried this powder in easy to carry single packets. You can disolve it in a spoon full of your favorite cold drink or pour it right in your mouth and then tahe a sip of a drink. Either way it is fast and convienent and only 4 packets give you enough calcium for the day. What a great product. I just purchased 4 more boxes!

I need to take about 1500 mg of calcium citrate every day since I've had gastric bypass surgery. This is a very affordable source of this vitamin. In addition to being cheap, it is easy to take. I add it to coffee, protein drinks, hot cocoa, applesauce and yogurt. My only complaint is that it has a gritty texture, but it's the best source of calcium citrate I've found to date. I would definitely recommend this product.

Previously I was using supplement in the form of tablets and/or capsules. The quantity that I needed to take each day was overwhelming and becoming unpleasant. However, UpCal comes in a powdered form that can be mixed with any liquid. I mix two packets with my morning drink and I am done for the day. UpCal was recommended by my doctor. Glad to have found it.

After much research, I decided to try this powdered Calcium Citrate. I experimented with how I consumed it - mixed with a lot of water vs a little bit of water, hot/warm water vs cold water. As others have stated, the powder DOES NOT DISSOLVE in liquid, even if it's hot. But you can just stir the liquid right before taking sips. The powder is 100% flavorless, and I prefer mixing a whole packet with 4 oz of warm water with a drop of honey. Better than a cup of joe in the mornings! Some of the powder inevitably sticks to the bottom of the cup or to the side of the cup as you take your last sip, so I end up adding a little more water to try to drink up as much powder as possible. After each sip, the chalky powder does settle slightly on your tongue, similar to after you eat a Tums (which is Calcium Carbonate, which is not the elemental calcium needed for strong bones!). Overall, this is a much easier alternative than horse pills and liquid calcium that needs to be refrigerated. I like the portability of this powder and the ease of consumption.

My Bariatric MD recommended UPCAL Calcium w/Vit D after my weight loss surgery due to malabsorbtion... Now I have osteoporsis and my Endocrinologist recommends same to keep my bones strong. I love the powder in the packets...they are portable. The ordering and shipment as always is great for me through Amazon. My Surgeon only asks for the state of the art and that is NOT pills. The powder mixes tastelessly with any beverage. I even put it on my cereal. Price very reasonable considering how long a couple of cartons last me. I try to take at least 3 a day but supposed to take 4.Take care of your bones. Especially after menopause. Take a quick Dex Scan to find out where you are. Its quick and easy/painless.

New formula is horrible. The old formula in the blue and orange packets was perfect and I loved it. I just reordered and received the new type which is in the orange and black box and silver and orange packets and the taste is awful! Tastes like chemicals :( I am so so disappointed as I felt like I'd found my calcium! Please go back to the old formula or old packaging or just get rid of whatever is making it taste so awful :(
