This knife is big but it is so well balanced that you do not notice when working with it. It is very sharp and the weight/sharpness and length all work together; found that it easily helps chop onion (length allow you to keep tip on the board the whole time) as easily as slice tomato thin, the length made it a snap to chop herbs quickly. This is a top three favorite tool in the kitchen - it also seems that the size make others avoid using it, so finally I have a knife all to myself.

Put very simply, this is the best knife I have ever owned, Global is the best! The knife is razor sharp out of the box & so perfectly balanced! Comfortable fit in the hand, you will not be disappointed!

Bought this knife for our daughter who cooks a lot and is particular about her kitchen equipment. She loves the knife - high quality and very easy with which to work. This is a large knife, perhaps better to get a 9" or 10" for more versatile use, especially if making a first time purchase.

Very high quality knife, can sharpen to an incredibly sharp edge. Only downside to this knife is it is a little long, but good for large scale work.
