A LOT of old stuff....2002??,
By A Customer
This review is from: Global Hits 2002 (Audio CD)
This album has a lot of good music. Problem is most of it has a lot of songs that have been out for more than a year or two. Not very current, then again no US compilation is.

Pretty cool CD,

Generally, I do not like compilation albums. They always have a bunch of [junk] along with one or two cool songs in there that I don't necessarily want to listen to. But I gave Global Hits a chance yesterday when it came out and it actually manages to be a CD that I can play the whole way through. Dance hits such as IIO's "Rapture" and Modjo's "Lady (Hear Me Tonight) are awesome club songs. People I have never even heard of, like Sylver and Ian Van Dahl are cool and even Craig David's on the CD, which I found really impressive. There are some songs which become a little overbearing such as Superman Lovers who's got a really annoying song on it, and that [darn] ATC song "La La La La" which gets played way too much. But the fact that Daft Punk's "One More Time" is on there makes it all worth it. I wouldn't say every dance music lover will like this CD, but it's really fun and poppy and hell, I like it.

This cd offers a great variety of dance music that we in the United States don't get too listen to. This cd is a good compilation of hits (mostly from europe) that come directly from the dance floors of night clubs. A good example are:
iio-Rapture Roger Sanchez-Another Chance Modjo-Lady Hear Me Tonight Kosheen-Hide U Alcazar-Crying at the Discoteque Sylver-Turn the Tide and on..... I think that this is a great example of music that we in the states are missing out on. So if you want to listen to some of Europe's top hits, you should pick this up.

One of the Best Comps of 2002!,

Global Hits 2002 is certainly one of the best compilations of 2002. To start with, this CD launched Iio's "Rapture" as well as Kosheen's "Hide U" in the U.S. Nearly every track is well worth listening to, with the possible exceptions being tracks 16 & 17 by Artful Dodger and DJ Pied Piper, which are more rap than Dance. Includes the instant Disco classic "One More Time" by Daft Punk and many other fantastic hits. One "sleeper" track which is a bit obscure but a wonderful suprise is the last track on the CD, "Duel" (Remix) by Bond. It features dueling violins and an Enya-sounding vocal, all to a pounding beat a-la Deep Forest or Enigma. Get this CD, I can not recommend it highly enough!

This is truly a great cd. It may be bought because you like one of the songs and can't find it anywhere else because the cd is sold in another country, and you buy this and find you like all the songs. It lets you see what other types of music there are other than rock and rap its a great buy with 19 songs i recomond it to any one that likes and of thte songs on the cd.:}
