I was surprised to read the review that notebook computer slipped off the stand. Both a Lenovo T60 and a Macbook Pro stay on my Ifold stand.

1.0 out of 5 stars Non-slip pads--not!
I just received a Matias iFold folding laptop stand, and within the first hour of use it sent my precious PowerBook tumbling to the floor. I have tried a number of times, but I cannot get my laptop to sit on this stand for more than a few minutes (not touching or using the laptop at all, mind you) before it starts its slow but quickening and inevitable slide forward...

I have tried a number of times, but I cannot get my laptop to sit on this stand for more than a few minutes (not touching or using the laptop at all, mind you) before it starts its slow but quickening and inevitable slide forward. Based on my experience I would say do NOT purchase and use this stand if you give a hoot about your laptop. It's a shame--the stand looks great and is highly portable. It just doesn't work at all as a laptop stand. I would love to hear from someone whose laptop actually stays perched on one of these.

5.0 out of 5 stars No problems, January 7, 2012

I travel a lot for work and wanted a folding unit that would work with my MacBook Pro. I chose this one since it was a little higher than the others. It is a little heavy but the trade is a flat stable platform for the laptop. I have had no problems with it slipping off. The first time I set it up I didn't look at the picture and I set it up upside down. I wonder if some of the slipping issues are related to improper use?

4.0 out of 5 stars Not For a DJ, February 26, 2011

The Ifold is well built and very portable, but if you are Dj this laptop stand is not for you. The stand is too low, it does not extend. If you have a mixer or a case for your Midi controller you won't be able to use it.I had to return it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A simple recommendation, February 16, 2011

This stand works well with my heavy Macbook Pro. I don't use a secondary keyboard, so there is a bit of wobble while typing, but this set up is many times better than hunching over the Macbook like I used to do. I have had no problems with the laptop slipping on the non-slip pads and the notorious heat that a Macbook creates is no longer a concern.
This is a simple product, nicely engineered, that delivers. Is it perfect? No. It doesn't make my coffee. Is it excellent? Close. That depends on what you pay for it. Is it good? Yes. I paid $[...] and change with free shipping.
In my opinion, worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dependable and transportable, December 2, 2010

Matias Ifold Stand - Black This is a strong well designed table top stand elevate a laptop computer 7 inches to put the screen at eye level while seated, or allows you to stand up while using the computer. The elevated platform is stable and does not let the laptop slip, slide or shake. The stand folds flat and fits into your laptop bag for transport. I am very pleased with this product.

The negative review worried me a bit. Pay it no mind. It is non-slip; you're computer isn't going anywhere. I have three Griffin stands which I like a lot but they're not very portable. This one isn't light, but it does fold up. Good quality; recommended.

I have been using one of these for three years. It is a great tool for using your laptop as a desktop replacement. It puts your laptop screen at a comfortable eye level so it's easy to use on your desk. Add a keyboard and mouse and you're ready to go. It is sturdy and very strong, folds compact and is portable. It comes with its own cloth case. About the only objection I have is that it is a little heave, but then that weight is need to make it sturdy enough to hold the heaviest of laptops.

5.0 out of 5 stars My neck loves it!, November 14, 2008
This review is from: Matias Ifold Stand - Black (Personal Computers)
I spend a good part of every day programming on my laptop in coffee shops. I got the iFold earlier today and have been working with it all afternoon. I can already tell a difference in my neck and back.

It very solid holding my Dell Vostro 1500. The non-slip pads don't allow any sliding between the laptop and the stand or the stand the table. It does jiggle a little when you push on it, but overall it seems a good compromise between strength and light weight.
