I am a former Marine and used to the military style sights of the m-16a2 service rifle. So when I was looking for back up iron sights for my flat top AR I had to check these out for the price. One reviewer mentioned different materials from front to rear sight, and they do look a little different. Seems like the front sight is cnc milled and anodized black while the rear is cast and parkerized gray maybe. The rear sight actually matches the gun metal gray color. The rear sight shows pits on one side from a poor cast which is why I removed one star. None of that matters to me because I did not get this AR to look cool but to function. These sights are all metal, even though the discription says polymer. I was familiar with these sights so I knew better but you might have been wondering.

They seem pretty solid, with big set screws and bolts that did not strip while tightening down. I have mine set to co-witness with a 40mm red dot (swiped from another carbine till my acog comes in) and they seem to be on with a bore sight. I still need to sight it in for the last little tweaks and tune as bullets do not fly like a laser, but I bet it is close.

The adjustments are solid with a very positive feel and I do not forsee a problem with holding after firing. I like these over some of the flip up style sights as those do not have adjustment for long range shooting. These have the military elevation adjustment in yards. Basically, if you like the military style sight and do not want to spend a lot of money and do want to mount an optic instead of having a carrying handle, that I was trained to never use anyways, these might be for you.

If I encounter problems when I shoot I will update this post.

This sights mounted straight up on my Stag Model 3H upper on the gas block front and upper receiver. Took only three shots to get on target. They were only 3 clicks from accurate. For the price you cannot go wrong. Order them with confidence they survived 500 rounds with no issues. Four stars because they were a little heavy.

Bought this as my first back up sights, I still use the front site in conjunction with a set of magpul rear site. Haven't really had time to sight it in but it worked great after 30-40 rounds on my AR15.

These sights are not polymer, the are anodized aluminum / black painted steel. -1 for incorrect description I actually prefer the metal to plastic, either way it can be misleading.

The front sight is for a standard gas block that is lower than the rails on handguards or receiver if you have a proper flat top
then you will have to get a low profile front sight.

Sights are built good there is some small amount of looseness in the rear sight but thats to be expected with all the adjustments. They stay on target though. I did have some trouble with tightening the rear sight, my rail maybe just under spec. some shims on the grasp helped.

overall I would buy again or recommend.

Destroyed the front sight entirely from just one zero session, just by trying to adjust it. Definitely bad news. Not recommended at all.

I love these sights. better than my ROCK River detachable sights. I put them on my DPMS upper and I was on bulls eye only in 6 shots.

When I look down these sights it reminds me of my M16A2! when your old school, you've got class! great product.

WARNING this product is not for high profile gas blocks! If your gas block and your Picatinny rail are level do not buy this front sight. this is set up for the low profile gas block.

Bought these sights as backup irons for my latest AR-15 build. Unfortunately we were never able to get it sighted in on two different AR-15s, attempting to sight in at 33 yards and 100 yards. We maxed out the adjustments of the front and rear sights, and at 100 yards we were shooting at least two feet low on both rifles. We replaced the sights with a reflex sight as well as another sight of iron sights, and were dead on at 33 and 100 yards. They held on well enough, we ripped through a good 200 rounds rapid firing with one rifle and they never budged, and held through as we spent a good 2 hours with the sights trying to get them adjusted. Build quality was a little poor, after adjusting the front sight you could see the paint and metal being worn down after just a few twists of the front post. Was hoping to contact the seller directly so as to not leave a bad review in the chance that I just got a bad set, but didn't really see any way to do that.

Overall, given the fact of how easily the material/metal chipped and wore off, as well as the fact we could not get two rifles sighted at either 33 or 100 yards, I have to give this product 1 of 5 stars. If I'm contacted and offered an exchange for a new set, I'll update this review once I have a chance to get out to the range. Hopefully I just got a bad set (things happen) but the set I received just don't cut it.
