Editorial Reviews

Review

"I find the Ray and Kaarbo book an excellent resource and textbook for basic introductory international relations courses...I find the mixture of history and theory in the book as just about right. The book is comprehensive in its approach to the field leaving virtually no stone unturned in its use of research in the field and integrating that research into the text." Daniel Master, University of North Carolina Wilmington

"The chapters on security relations are excellent. I think these are the best topics I've seen on security in an intro IR text in 10 years of teaching."Christopher M. Sprecher, Texas A&M University --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

I got this for my POLS 103 class, I like the layout and the author does a pretty good job in keeping the audience intrigued, definitely better than some that I've seen

The book is really good, and I love it. Only problem - it's soft cover + covers the issues in mostly the general sense, and I want some more specifics on the issues...
I heartily recommend the book.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good general-purpose INR text, April 16, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Global Politics (Paperback)
James Lee Ray (Florida State at the time of writing Global Politics, Vandberbilt currently) has written a solid general introduction to international relations. Along with covering traditional INR theories and frameworks, Ray also introduces some more contemporary theories, including an extended section on the democratic peace theory
