4.0 out of 5 stars Most of what an International traveler would need
Being a farm owner/breeder and licensed trainer, I have been to many tracks and this book does not disappoint. It does omit a few countries for no apparent reason, but covers the rest in great detail. About as good as you will find in 4 books put together. A good overall buy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Little to No Handicapping insight
This book is about exactly what its title says, "Foreign Racecourses" NOT Foreign Racing. If you are looking for the 'Picking Winners' or 'Beyer on Speed' of Timeform/RacinPost form figures or a 'how to' of analyzing foreign form, this book will do nothing for you. If you're looking for a travel guide for foreign racetracks and their amenities , you will be well served by...

If you're looking for a travel guide for foreign racetracks and their amenities , you will be well served by this book. Otherwise, don't waste your hard earned. The DRF would do well to have the talented Simon Bray make a video on the nuts and bolts of foreign form analysis and figure construction in the future; The very near future.

1.0 out of 5 stars Handicapper Keith, March 28, 2009
This review is from: Global Racing: The Complete Guide to the Greatest Foreign Racecourses (Hardcover)
This book was a BIG disappointment. Since handicapping is so difficult at foreign tracks, I thought there would be handicapping information in this book. There is NOTHING in this book about handicapping. If your searching for a non-fiction book about someones personal experiences, this book is for you. DON'T BUY THIS BOOK IF YOUR LOOKING FOR HANDICAPPING INFORMATION.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good informative book but......., January 21, 2009
This review is from: Global Racing: The Complete Guide to the Greatest Foreign Racecourses (Hardcover)
As a Horse racing enthusiast,I was greatly looking foward to this book.
Finally ,a comprehensive volume to educate me on the many foreign racetracks that are sprinkled in the past performances of our thougouhbred stars. Finally ,a little more International info available to me for huge wagering days like the Breeders Cup, Dubai World cup, Arc day, and so on.
Well, the info on the tracks that were included was just what I was looking for. What I wasn't expecting ; countries and their tracks to be completley missing!! Uruguay (where INVASOR won their Triple Crown) being the most glaring example. That makes this book interesting but ultimately disappointing.
