Seriously Needs an Update,

I bought this book ten years ago and enjoyed it very much. The book is very matter of fact and contained very helpful information. Today (12/19/10) I was cleaning my basement and found the book and reviewed it. I am pondering whether to keep it or toss it. It has nice summaries for most countries, but it is a creature of a different time. It presumes that most of your connections will be dialup; it doesn't talk about GSM frequencies, prepaid options, data, etc. I went to Amazon to look for an updated version of the book only to find that the original version was still on sale.
If I were writing this review ten years ago, I would have given the book a much higher rating. In 2010, I think it is too dated. |
