5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!
This is the best ski movie (next to Scott Gaffney's 1999). The soundtrack is rockin' and the skiing is awesome. Brad Holmes' rap is great too. buy this movie. you will be blown away.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I expected after reading the reviews
Having bought this video on the 5-star reviews by all the Amazon reviewers, I was expecting an epic ski movie along the lines of "The Blizzard of Oz." Although the movie is good, I don't think it comes close to any of the Greg Stump videos. Ironically, it seems as if this movie is a rip-off of some of Stump's original, cutting edge films. In fact, I would say it is a cross between Stump's videos and my own homemade ski videos, which admitedly, I parodied in my own flicks.

I am not totally down on Global Storming. The skiing, scenery and soundtrack are pretty good, although some of the photography and sound quality isn't top notch at times - no DTS. I just didn't find it too original -- i.e. I thought it was basically a generic flick.

It is good, however, to see a good ski movie on DVD. I have essentially scrapped my VHS and most of the tape that go with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but not that great, January 6, 2002
This review is from: Global Storming (DVD)
The reviews here defenitely overrate this movie. The footage is pretty good, there are a lot of cool mountains and fast skiing down steeps. However, it lacks variety and gets boring after a while. It would be ok if it were only 30 minutes but then it is just too repetetive. The whole film lacks outstanding runs or jumps or tircks that you want to rewind and see over and over again like other ski movies. The rapping session is painful. The film is better than some but not the best.

If the opening sequence of this movie, with its Metallica soundtrack, doesn't get you pumped to go skiing, best you take up badmitton. The soundtrack is only gravy for this well- filmed ski movie, the locations will make you want to take a month off work and travel...(what doesn't make you want to take a month off work?) I particularly enjoyed the Telemarker who ripped 45*-50* slopes Lurk-style, old,old school! Get the DVD version, crank up the sound, and get ready to make some turns...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Movie!, June 24, 2000

This is a great film. Being brought on in the olden days of Greg Stump films, (remember PTex, Lies and Duct Tape?) I was looking for a modern representation. I was not dissappointed! Plus, that have a little of everything in here, road Gaps, flat spins, front flips, double backflips, etc. Plenty of steeps from Alaska and Europe and tons of powder shots.

Also they have BASE jumping, Motocross, snowmobiling, and an awesome rap performance from Holmes that has to be seen. The soundtrack is great as well. Buy it if only to motivate yourself in the off season! Great all around film, looking forward to more films from MatchStick Productions!

5.0 out of 5 stars Flippin Sick!, April 5, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Global Storming [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This movie features some of todays hottest ski stars. "The New Canadian Air-Force" is off the hook! And the soundtrack featuring Slipknots "wait and bleed" track kill the competition. If you were injured this ski season and can't ski, DO NOT rent his movie because the sick stuff in this movie will get you really mad, that you can't go out and do it. Although if you are a skier of any ability, cuz I garuntee if you see this movie it will pump you up, and make you a better skier. Steve Miller is the best director........ Later

It's too bad that this is the only ski film of recent release on DVD format. The other productions companies. nyway, about this film...it's awesome! After being brought on old Stump films (Remember PTex, Lies and Duct Tape?) I was looking for some of the new school footage. This delivers, tons of air, road gaps, flat spins, double backflips, and front flips, etc. Besides, skiing, they include BASE jumping, Motocross, a little snowmobiling, and a ridiculously funny rap video performance by Holmes, that just has to be seen. Get it, and use it to keep you motivated in the summer months!

Great job by MSP on putting together the soundtrack!
