Purchased this book for my class in international relations. Easy to read and has up to date information. Some of the writers articles you have to take with a grain of salt due to individual bias. But still a good book to have for class and reference.

What the vast majority currently understands about China is simply based through rumors and speculations, folklore and media slander.

Whether or not China becomes the next super power of the world in the next "20 years" is yet to be seen, but China definitely has some great advantages that it is capitalizing on.

This book will give readers a global understanding and perspective of that many factors that make the cogs turn in China. Those who want to know more about China in the political, economical, and light cultural sense, this book is definitely what you want to have in your course studies.

I had to read this book in preparation for my trip to China with my university. I feel like it helped me gain a better understanding of the cultural i was immersing myself into.

The book arrived on time and in great condition. The packaging was top notch. The book has been a great read so far which is good since it is required for my China Politics class. The author gives a broad range of information in short sections so it does not become mind numbing. I also like the break out of China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan versus mixing them together. I look forward to reading the second part of the book which is detailed articles written about issuses affecting China and the region. This book is well worth the money spent.
