excellent vibration watch,

This is the vibration watch to get if you are in need of vibration watch! If you mediate or do other mind awareness exercises this is perfect. I've had this watch 9 months and have had to change battery 2 or 3 times, but I use the vibrate mode a lot. Be careful when opening it and make sure the white square patch on inside cover is placed back on in the right direction (or it won't vibrate), if you make a mistake just open it and reverse the direction on cover. The first time I changed it I thought I broke it because it wouldn't vibrate, I did panic, but very calmly opened it up again and couldn't see any problems, but since I bought 2 of them, I opened the other one and saw the white patch on inside cover was in upper part of watch, I then fixed the other one by just reversing the cover. Hopefully this will save someone else some "panic" if they change battery and they don't get the vibration mode to work. If you are gonna use this watch to wake you up, it might work or not, but, you can set up 8 backup alarms, to go off at 7:00, 7:02, 7: 03, 7:04, so your wrist will be vibrating so much I'm sure one of them will wake you! :) It takes some conditioning to get use to placing your awareness on your wrist especially if you are in the middle of other activities in middle of day, but with time it becomes a "conditioned response". p.s. to change battery, you need very small screwdriver, 4 tiny screws on back plate, take it off, and battery is held in place by latch cover, so very gently pry off 1 side of latch, out and up, using screwdriver, put in new battery, reattach battery cover, by attaching the battery latch back in place, then put back plate on in the same direction as you took it off. If you get no vibration, then you put the back plate on 180 degree's the wrong direction, just reverse the direction and you are good to go. Buy 10-20-30 batteries generic very, very cheap like I did, so it's like 25 cents a battery! :) update: 11 11 2011 On 2 of these watches the corner broke off so watch band no longer would work. Also, some of the lcd numbers don't show any more. I sent one back to company and for 39 dollars they sent a new watch. I have now switched to timex explorer vibration watch , for 29 dollars , back in 2008 , the vibralite 8 was the vibration watch to get because timex and other companies didn't make them back then. The timex has countdown repeat timer, hydro repeat timer, stopwatch, 3 alarms , and 15 occasions reminders. So it's 1/2 the price of this vibralite 8 and it's a timex (a known watch company). Also, it's waterproof down to 300 feet.

Good Watch Especially for Reminders,
By Zenmaster (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews

I use this as a constant meditation reminder for mindfulness and habit improvement all day every 5 minutes. It's a unique product that serves this purpose well. I have not explored the possibility of 8 alarms yet!Normally, I cannot wear a watch without some irritation to my wrist and have had no problems with this one.I was surprised that the alarm mode (vibrate and/or sound) cannot be set separately for each alarm or even for alarm versus (reminder) timer. One other small negative is that itis difficult to tell AM from PM because the print is so small.Overall, a great watch.

VibraLITE 8 Post-Purchase Comments,
This review is from: VibraLITE 8 Black Polyurethane (Electronics)
The VibraLITE 8 is a great buy! Only 4 simple buttons, easy to program, and pretty much set-and-forget! The large face and available button for a soft blue backlight make it easy to read at night. The vibrating feature is strong, but not harsh. I gently wake out of a sound sleep without disturbing my wife. The design is very smooth and does not catch in the linens when I turn at night. May be a little large for persons not liking a large watch face, but personally I would not change a feature. It is great!

Good watch for waking, exercising,

I'm a fan of this watch! I needed a watch to wake me up without also waking up my wife, and this watch works great. It's simple to program and the display is clear and not too busy. And the vibration works very well. No snooze button needed, as you can program up to 8 alarms, one right after another if need be.
I had originally bought a Timex watch with a vibrating feature because it was half the price and it was rated 4.5 stars on Amazon, but I promptly returned it because the vibrating feature was weak and difficult to access and did not meet my requirements like this watch does. As an added bonus, as I played with the features (still haven't read the instructions), I discovered the countdown timer that I now use for working out and for other activities. So when I'm listening to music and exercising, the vibrating alarm gives me interval countdowns, laps, etc. This is an added nice feature that's especially useful for circuit workouts, running, or whatever, so that you don't have to look down at your watch to check your times. My 2 minor complaints are that the band is a little too rigid and not entirely comfortable for long hours of wearing. But this is easily fixed by putting a new band on, which I did. Also, as I'm right handed, I wear my watch on my left hand. So when I'm doing certain exercises that involve a lot of bending of my wrist, like push-ups, I end up pressing the start/stop button on the chronometer or countdown timer. Other than that, I'm happy with the watch.

vibrating watch,
This review is from: VibraLITE 8 Black Polyurethane (Electronics)
I bought this watch to wake me up in the morning, due to my hearing impairment. It does the job for that, unless I was really tired and then, I'd not feel the vibration.
I didn't buy the watch for its looks, in which it ain't pretty. The display is somewhat coarse (not high resolution), but it's functional. I don't wear watches, except to sleep with for the wakeup call, so it doesn't matter. If you want a vibrating watch for a wakeup, and not a heavy sleeper, this should work for you.

Great watch but slight reliability issues,

Since I have bought one of these (in the UK so from RNID) I have found it indispensable. Great for waking me without waking my wife. Great for timing my 30 second stretches. Great for interval training. Great for reminders. Only issue I have is that some elements of the LCD display have failed after about 9 months. It is still usable, but I wonder how long this will continue to be the case.
I have managed to change the battery myself (it takes a CR2032). I used a small cross head jewellers screwdriver to get the back off. Keep a note of which way the cover goes on - apparently it matters - someone else (richman) said the vibration doesn't work if you get it wrong. Then I used the back of a Stanley knife blade to ping the battery cover - push the metal latch down and away from the battery. On mine you can tell which way to put the back on by aligning the white disc on the inside of the back with the battery. On mine the text on the outside is the other way up to the main watch display. While I was attempting the operation the whole watch innards came out. The Stanley knife blade also came in handy for re-inserting these. The only thing stopping them going in is the button contacts. You basically need to iterate pushing these back towards the watch core to make sure it is properly seated before replacing the rubber seal and then the metal back.

I got my first Vibralite 8 in May 2009, and I'll be ordering a new one today, since I depend on it so much in my job and my life in general. The vibrating alarms are indispensible, and I use the stopwatch and countdown timer frequently in my job. The problem for me is changing batteries. The first time, I wasn't able to use the top right button, the one that changes the time or starts the stopwatch after I reassembled the watch. It took a great deal of disassembling, playing around with the components, and reassembling before it would work again. Another year or so gone by, and the battery died again on Friday. I put in a new battery today, and, again, the top right button won't work. I messed with it and messed with it, and it still doesn't work.
I'd give this watch five stars if I could manage not to break it every time I need to change the battery.

I bought this watch after having some success with Timex's vibrating single alarm watch. This one is better for my purposes, with one exception. I am a firefighter and for me a watch is a must on the job. I use mine for keeping track of how long we have been working on an incidnent for fire spread calculations and also for taking pulses and charting medical reports in the field. This watch works well for that and is especially nice because I can just turn my wrist and the light comes on. The large numbers are also very easy to read. I love the 8 alarms and the repeating countdown timer and was pleasantly surprised at how well I wake up to the vibrating alarm. I recommend this watch for those, like me, who have a hearing impairment or work in noisy environs. I previously reviewed that this watch had no water resistance, but stand corrected by the good fellow who commented on my review. I have therefore increased my rating for this watch to 5 stars from 4. Thanks for the correction!

Great Watch,

This watch is working great! I have had it since 8/2009, and I use it every weekday. I teach PE, and needed the vibration to alert me when class was close to ending in the noisy gym. The vibration is great. I haven't had to change the battery, so I don't know how it will do after that. The 8 alarms are awesome. The only drawback might be its size; it is rather large on my small, female wrist, but it does the job!

The best reminder ever,

I have to take medications several times a day and make sure I pick up my granddaughter at school. The meds must be precisely taken. Carrying around a timer was awful, and annoyed others. I tried one vibrating watch from another company--it didn't even turn on when I received it. My vibrawatch is wonderful. I can be at the movies, or anywhere, and my wrist buzzes. While able to work a computer and such, I am of a generation who doesn't catch onto technology easily. I went through the instructions and made an extra copy of them to be sure. It wasn't difficult. This is one of the most helpful things I've ever had.
