Definitely seemed like a good deal for a hard to find lightbulb for my pendant kitchen light. However, I haven't even had it for 2 months and it already died. It says 9 year life span for 3 hour/day use. I probably used it for 9 hours a day (leaving it on through the night), so when I did the math, it should still last about 3 years. Not even close. I have no choice but to order another because it's so hard to find... maybe it was a fluke.

Amazon seems to be one of the few places I can buy this bulb. If you can, avoid buying anything that needs this bulb. It also contains mercury so if it breaks, it's not good. But the bulb works just fine and lights my desk.

Hi,
I bought a $5 desk lamp at the grocery store, and liked it a lot. After a year the included 7-year life compact florescent bulb failed, and I discovered the bulb had an unusual GU24 base. Look at the pins on the bottom of the bulb in the picture. Home depot doesn't stock this type of bulb, so I almost threw the lamp away, then decided to order a bulb through amazon. The bulb came safely though the mail protected in a plastic sleeve. Installed OK. Works fine. NOTE: like all CF bulbs, this one contains Mercury. If it arrives broken do not open the plastic package. Do recycle when the bulb eventually fails. Home Depot will take bulbs purchased anywhere.
