Good album, decent sacd mix,
By Chris Iliou (Windsor, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews

I'll just talk about how the sacd sounds since you can read the album review elsewhere. I compared it with my old cd version and there was no doubt that the sacd sounded better. Tighter bass, near life-like vocals, a more natural sound all around. I didn't care much for the multichannel mix. It's kind of like they tried too hard to use the surrounds and ended up with a bare front sometimes. I don't think rhythm guitars should be coming from the surround speakers. To sum it up, good quality with an adventurous multichannel mix.

One of the best CD's I ever heard,
By Bella's Mama "Joje" (Granby, MA) - See all my reviews

Most of the cd's only have a handful of good quality songs, but this CD every song is excellent and almost all of them went onto be BIG hits as singles. Sherly is a very talented song writer and it really shows in this album. Kick back & enjoy!

Sheryl Crows best album,

Sheryl Crow over the last decade or so has established herself as one of the top writers in music.
Sheryl is somewhat of a throwback to the 70's or possibly the 60's. Sheryl not only writes top folk songs, but can Rock an audience as well. The Globe Sessions is to date, her finest work. Included on the CD are, There Goes the Neighborhood which is one of her better songs. My Favorite Mistake is rumored to be about her fling with Eric Clapton, that did not work out. My Favorite Mistake features some outstanding guitar from her guitarist Peter Stroud. Anything but Down is another great song. The Difficult Kind follows, and features some outstanding harmony as well as fine lyrics. Mississippi is another great song. Sheryl Crow has not only established herself among Rock audiences, she is also establishing herself amongst Country audiences. I remember the first time I heard the CD. I enjoyed it very much and it was a breath of fresh air............you will too. |
