Formula Sheryl, but she's got it right!,

This review is from: The Globe Sessions (Audio CD)
I really don't get all this business about this album being too 'whiney'. The only whining I hear is the people reviewing it. I think it's just a fine album. My CD doesn't have the bonus track, but I think it still sounds great. It runs the gamut from Rock to ballads and does it successfully. I love 'There goes the Neighborhood' and obviously 'My Favorite Mistake', but the sound of the CD is well-rounded all over. I like the whole concept of making the disc sound like it was recorded on an old reel-to-reel tape recorder. My opinion is that if you like Sheryl Crow, then you should buy this album and form your own ideas about whether you like it or not. I almost didn't buy this CD because of the things that I had heard about it. I would've been missing out. Don't let that happen to you.

My favorite "mistake",

If you even kind of like Sheryl Crow, you'll love this disc. I was wrong in listening to a bunch of sold out music critics rip this CD to shreds and waited months to buy it. I haven't taken it out of my stereo yet. Her vocals overcome any supposed musical inadequacies claimed by others. I think it's her best work by far.

She keeps on evolving,
By A Customer

I've enjoyed Sheryl Crow since her first album, but she was never what I would call my "favorite". It appears that I underestimated her. She is shaping up to be the rare artist who keeps on getting better with each release. I thought the second album was a bit better than the first, and now the "Globe Sessions" even that much better than both of them. You can't ask for much more from an artist than a devotion to their craft, love for what they do and honesty...even if it isn't always "life is beautiful..happy..happy..happy". This album is by a real person for real people, whose life and emotions run the gamut from elation to despair. Whoever wrote the "Amazon" review at the top of this page is entitled to their opinion...but I have to wonder what they listened to, because it sure wasn't this album. Far superior to the highly touted Lauryn Hill album. Buy Crow instead.
