Handy gloves,

I wear these convertible glove/mittens when I'm going on nature walks with my camera. It sure beats dragging off my gloves every time I want to free my fingers, them having to re-glove. It's so quick and easy to free up my fingers, or my thumbs, or both, and just as quick to re-cover them. My hands freeze in any gloves, and I have several pair of very warm all-one-piece type gloves - these seem to be as warm as any gloves I have. I would buy again. Fast service, too.

Glomitts,

This review is from: Hot Heads Glomitts! Its a glove..and a mitten! (Apparel)
The GloMitts are pretty amazing. I feel very versatile when I wear them, due to the mitten flap being easy to take on and off. There are a few issues though. The first being an annoying one...the thumb flap doesn't have any velcro or anything to hold it back, and it gets in the way when you try to write or anything.
The few issues I have with them are that the seams where the mitten attaches to the glove seems to be a weak one, and the edges are beginning to recede. Also, there is no sort of lining at the end of the fingers on the glove part, and they sort of begin to roll in on themselves due to wear. Also, a tiny bit of air seems to get in between the thumb flap and the actual thumb covering since there isnt much overlap. Overall, I really like the gloves. While they aren't amazing, they do keep me warm and perform their function very well.

Great concept, poor execution,

After receiving my pair and trying them out, I've decided to relegate them to the car for a spare pair in case I forget my regular gloves.
They are sturdy and comfortable enough, and they keep your hands warm, the problem lies in the flap that unfolds to cover your fingers. It isn't thick enough to keep your fingertips warm. I'm not talking sub zero temps either, it was around 20 degrees Fahrenheit when I used them. It also is easier to remove a standard glove to reach into your pocket than it is to open the flap to expose your fingers and then try to re-cover them with your other hand that is inside of a mitten.

Good but Not Great,

These gloves are okay. They keep my hands warm, and the ability to remove the thumb in addition to the mitten part of the glove is nice, but it seems to work good in theory but not in practice. The little pocket to hold back the glove does not actually hold back the glove as well as it should, and it often falls out unless I really shove it in there, which is then a bulky little lump on top of my hand. There is absolutely nothing holding the thumb portion of the glove back, so it just sort of hangs there and gets in the way when I'm trying to write. I'm a little disappointed that after only a week of wear that the material on the thumb is already starting to come apart, leaving a mess of unflattering little threads everywhere. I honestly don't these gloves will last me more than one winter's worth of use, which is very disappointing. When looking for a new pair of gloves next year, I would not consider these again. They keep my hands somewhat warm, but are not as practical as they could be.

I bought these gloves because I suffer from really cold hands, especially during the winter and I wanted gloves that I could write and type with in class. I've used cheap fingerless gloves in the past, like the ones from H&M, but I was interested in this sortof design after spending a week with family in Chicago and being lent a similar concept glove for my stay. Those gloves were amazing! I don't know their name otherwise I would have bought them. I do know they were bought at a Target. In short, they too allowed for the thumb to slip out a little slot and had a mitten top to cover the cutoff fingers. Why were they amazing and why are these not? They were way sleeker and comfortable, these are super bulky and uncomfortable. The finish on them was really well made while these look like some person sits around all day and cuts the fingers off with scissors with little interest. The cuts aren't even, and aren't restitched so the fabric will thread very quickly (it looks so cheap!!). Last of all, the other pair had little magnets inside the fabric which held the mitten up. Very convenient!!! Like another reviewer mentioned, the mittens on these fall out of their enclosures and are annoying push inside all the time. The thumb tops come off unintentionally. They really aren't good at all but I was already on a flight abroad when I opened them up and didn't want to send them back from Europe.
My guess it that all the good reviews are because people don't know how much better a fingerless glove can be and they were just delighted with the concept even though the product is more than lacking. In short: find the ones with the magnets.

1. Maybe they are poorly cut but they just don't fit comfortably. Not only to me but to several other people I've tried on.
2. Another issue is that the flap is too short in my opinion. 3. They are difficult to take off because they don't have loops in between fingers like proper glomitts do.

This mitten convertible glove is warm, snowproof and really comfortable. Just what I needed to overcome Chicago's excruciating winter.

It's very comfortable despite the bulkiness, but I don't mind.
I like how they design the thump. Wish they could have more color to choose from.
