I'd heard a little of this on XM and thought I'd give it a try. It's AWESOME. Trying to put a label on this album is tough but it sounds like ZZ-Top and Black Sabbath combined, just harder and faster. -TJ

cant find this cd anywhere by me so i went to the net and boom here it is and a lil cheaper than store cds!!!! so awsome!!

Viking Skull have been making purebred rock and roll for awhile now and this is yet another solid effort in the whiskey and beer tinged gravelly voiced vein that they love to mine. If you ever have a chance to see this band in person I highly recommend it along with this and all their previous albums.

Yeah its not over technical, but maybe that makes it more great. Theres still riffs and solos the likes of kurt cobain never shared. It's the kind of album everyone can get into without being poppy, money grabbing or pathetic. damn good songs. It really is the kind of album you think there'd be more of.

I BOUGHT MY FIRST VIKING SKULL CD WHEN IT POPPED UP AS A RECOMMENDATION FROM SOMETHING ELSE I BOUGHT HERE ON AMAZON. AND THE FEW PEOPLE I HAVE TURNED ON TO IT HAVE ALSO BOUGHT IT- SO BELIEVE ME- VIKING SKULL IS A TERRIFIC BAND THAT ISNT HEAVILY PROMOTED APPARENTLY. IF THE VOCALS OF MOTORHEAD OR LORDI DO ANYTHING FOR YOU....GET THEIR RELEASE " BORN IN HELL"...YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. THIS NEW CD IS VERY MUCH IN THE SAME VEIN. HOWEVER, THE VOCALS ARE A BIT DROWNED OUT BY THE MUSIC. I CAN UNDERSTAND EVERY WORD ON BORN IN HELL, BUT I DO NEED THE LYRIC SHEET FOR PARTS OF THE SONGS ON THIS NEW ALBUM. IM NOT KNOCKING THE MATERIAL OR THE BAND; MERELY STATING THAT THE MIX IS NOT WHAT IT WAS ON BORN IN HELL. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM LIVE; AND AS THE CD JACKET LISTS PENNSYLVANIA AS THE RECORDING SITE I HOPE TO BE ABLE TO AS I AM IN PA...I JUST NEVER SEE ANYTHING FROM THEM PROMOTION- WISE. 5 STARS FOR THE BAND AND THEIR MATERIAL AND THE ATTITUDE THEY PORTEND; 3 STARS FOR THE GUY AT THE CONTROLS DURING RECORDING.

Maybe I'm jaded but this is not worth listening to for the rest of your life and it's just not that interesting at all. It's pretty much heavy rock n roll along the lines like CHROME DIVISION or EARTHRIDE but nothing new, invigorating or exciting - pretty bland if you ask me. I have heard so much better before, unfortunately this band doesn't do it and I was expecting something of a high caliber output from this band considering their cool name.

If you like songs that are totally devoted to whiskey, then this band is up your alley.
