From School Library Journal
Grade 2-4–Highlighting the misfortune of illness and life-threatening injury, these brief biographies accentuate these figures' struggles and their commitments to worthwhile causes despite personal challenges. Each book is divided into five short chapters with the initial two recounting early childhood and adult life prior to the successful entertainment careers both celebrities enjoy. Remaining chapters deal with Fox's Parkinson's disease and Estefan's tour-bus accident, their continual physical endeavors, successful careers, and charitable works. While the focus of this series is on values, the content is minimal and documented primarily from mainstream publications such as Ladies' Home Journal, People magazine, and Entertainment Weekly. While the large-print texts with numerous photos, pull quotes, and sidebars will attract young readers, the books are of limited value.–Rita Soltan, Oakland University, Rochester, MI
