My late husband had taped this Gaither homecoming special for me as he knew this was my favorite Christmas carol and David Phelp's rendition truly gives you chills when you listen to it, Due to a glitch, we lost the taped special (darn cable) and we looked for the Gaither special every year to be rebroadcast. But it has not been in our area. So I took a chance it would be listed on Amazon and here it is. I loved all the carols and the bits of humor that keep the whole show light but reverent also. But if you want a tranforming experience, listen to O Holy Night. It brings tears and chokes one up, all in a good way. I think my late husband (my 1st Christmas without him) might have given me a litte "voice" to look at Amazon!

Christmas in the country is a great classic in the Gaither's homecoming series, it contains many well known songs as well as some lesser known songs. The performers are all top artists who have deserved their place in the southern gospel music field.

We have been slowing collecting the Gaither dvds and have to say that this is the best one that we have gotten so far. It contains some of the best Christmas music around highlighted by O Holy Night by David Phelps. This dvd has none religious songs on it also like Tennesee Christmas sung by Guy Penrod and Babbie Mason. It also has some comedy by Mark Lowry and Bill Gaither and singing bymany of the Homecomeing Friends. Great Dvd

My family and I enjoy Christmas In The Country. It is a product we can watch over and over.

Thought I reviewed this about two years ago. I really like this album. David Phelps sings O Holy Night. I compared this with Pavoroti (sp?), and I like David's rendition better. True Story. What a beautiful, touching, and well phrased delivery. I took this to my friend's house on Christmas day, this year, and they marveled at this song. The whole thing is good. It is from some years back, but it is a good DVD to have.

the item has not been tried yet as it is a christmas gift, therefore, it has not been opened. i will update as soon as we have tried it.

Really enjoyed this album. I loved to see his family and home and he seems genuine in his faith. That makes me like his music even more. The music is found on other albums but put on this DVD in a nice package.

The Gaither gospel music is just great. I play Christmas in the country whenever I neeed a little moral booster and it always works. it's just great
