Blessed with a powerful and emotional voice and stunning good looks, Gloria Loring should be a household name. Loring also amassed lots of fans during her DAYS OF OUR LIVES daytime stint. So, what happened?
My feeling is that Ms. Loring was marketed as her TV persona, a great singer promoted as a Vegas lounge singer and never given the opportunity to stretch those vocal cords with more challenging material.
This 1986 release certainly showcases her voice but with a few exceptions, the material is 80's disco and marginally effective ballads. Her big hit with Carl Anderson, FRIENDS AND LOVERS, is a fine ballad, voices blending in this quest for real love. Three up-tempo tunes follow with CHANGES OF HEART being the best. IF YOU REMEMBER ME, Chris Thompson's hit from "The Champ" tearjerker works well with Loring's passionate rendering. Only 2 more noteworthy tracks: her sultry cover of SINCE I DON'T HAVE YOU and the heartfelt WHAT'S ONE MORE TIME.
Loring might have fared better with songwriters like Karla Bonoff, Diane Warren or Carole Bayer Sager.
Regardless, Gloria Loring is a talented lady who deserved more attention.

This CD brings back so many memories. It is her best work to date. My favorite tracks are:

The product is in excellent conditon. So happy to find the CD version of this cassette tape that I have worn out. Great service from the seller.
