Classic dance song of the sixties (and seventies),

If you attended lounge entertainment in the late sixties and seventies, you would have heard this song,FOR SURE, if you listened to a band that played rock and roll. Some bands made the song go on for 15 minutes, adding or making up additional lines. For me, I like the beat, the up tempo dance type of song that to this day makes me want to dance when I hear it. One thing, though, the song was apparently not recorded under ideal recording conditions (garage?), so the quality is a little suspect at times. I often wonder, why didn't they go back and record it and make a better copy. Anyone know?
