More Info about this single,

This review is from: Glory of the 80's, Pt. 1 (Audio CD)
I just recently purchased the glory of the 80's single and realized that the one with twinkle and famos blue raincoat is actually part 2 of the set. there was a major mix up in regards to this release and i dont think part one is available anymore due to a Cd Pressing mistake.I hope that AMAZON does some research and makes a correction to this being that they have 4 items listed which makes it very confusing to Tori fans looking for this single. Part one should have the songs Glory of the 80's, Baker baker, and winter. While part two has the tracks listed above.

Does anyone know if this item is the correct single. The songs that are listed as the samples are from the missprinted cd. The links actually play baker baker and winter.

Tori Rocks!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Glory of the 80's, Pt. 1 (Audio CD)
If you haven't already heard Tori's version of Famous Blue Raincoat then this is a good place to start. The version on this single has the cutest introduction "I know how you feel lads, I need bigger hands, it's tough". The version of Twinkle is also beautiful and makes for a very enjoyable CD. If you're a true Tori fan, you have to get this!

Delving further into Amos's "secretime.",
By Matt. (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Glory of the 80's, Pt. 1 (Audio CD)
This is the first part of the two-part "glory of the 80's singles," the first and only U.K. singles off of Amos's fifth solo album, "to venus and back." Just as the second disc of the album is a live collection of mostly band songs, the "glory of the 80's" single offers a further look into Amos's live solo performances, played during "secretime" of her 1998 concert tour. The offerings here are the rarely played "Twinkle" and a great version of her stunning cover of Leonard Cohen's "Famous Blue Raincoat."

stick with concertina,
By Joanne Elizabeth (Olympia, WA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Glory of the 80's, Pt. 1 (Audio CD)
The first single of this song features Tori on a black and white cover, looking seductive and flashing her wedding ring in the corner. It has the same two live songs as the "concertina" single ("famous blue raincoat" & "twinkle"). Unless you have to have the complete set of singles from this album, just stick with "concertina". Glory of Tori,

Imagine yourself sitting in a misty room with big 80's hair, the hairspray burning your eyes. Imagine talking to people who say words like, "radical...gnarly". Imagine laughing to yourself. And wanting to press your head against the window of your own self and singing a song. This would be the one. t.amos is brilliant.

Actually.....,

Pt. 2 of "Glory of the 80's" is actually the one w/ "Baker Baker" and "Winter" on it. The one above (w/ "Famous Blue Raincoat" and "Twinkle") IS in fact part one. I was wondering myself, and checked some local music stores. I found the discs, and saw that they had their "Bin" # stickers, which indicate what I just said as true.

A slight correction...,

... to the previous review. "Famous Blue Raincoat" can indeed be found elsewhere, namely on the Leonard Cohen tribute/cover CD "Tower of Song" by various artists. It is a studio recording, but it sounds very "unplugged" - just Tori singing and playing the piano, meaning that the song sounds very much like the live version you have here. But I love "Famous Blue Raincoat" so much that I own both. :o) Besides, this CD single is worth the money for "Glory of the 80's" alone, in case you don't have it. Great song, another of the hauntingly beautiful Tori classics.

B-sides are easier to find elsewhere,

This review is from: Glory of the 80's, Pt. 1 (Audio CD)
The B-sides for this single are identical to those on the "Concertina" single which was a US release and is easier to find and more affordable. The live performances of "Famous Blue Raincoat" and "Twinkle" warrant this a definite purchase for Tori fans. "Famous Blue Raincoat" is a Leonard Cohen cover than cannot be found anywhere else.
