Glory is a fantastic war story about the all black 54th regiment that played a pivotal role for the union during the Civil War. Based on fact, but not entirely accurate, it does the job of teaching us about an important part of American History. My 7th grade students are touched every year I show the movie, and they ask many great questions as they take a genuine interest in the characters and their struggles. This edited for Educational Uses is the ultimate necessity for showing "Glory" in school as it tones down the R rating without toning down the importance of the film. I only wish it could be re-released on DVD as I loathe the thought of my video wearing out. If you are a teacher, this version of "Glory" is a must have for the classroom.

Grade A ... A must see by every American History student. Also useful in building discussions about race relationships. Many a student has asked me for a copy of this ... of course, I told them to check Amazon for a copy. .... The extreme violence and swearing have been edited out of this version ... having this editing does not change the impact of this film.
