Based on interviews recorded over 9 months, the sometimes haunting, sometimes exuberant tones of Glory Hope Mountain follow both hope and tragedy in Montoya's native Honduras- a mother dying in childbirth, flash floods, an abusive father and an ultimately life-affirming move to Montreal in the 1970's --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

An homage to Rolf Klausener`s mother Gloria Esperanza Montoya, "Glory Hope Mountain" is a wonderfully whole piece, who's craftsmanship is merited by the beauty of the subject. A musical mural tracing a life in the colors of wet forests and travel, this album succeeds in pulling the listener into the narrative without telling them on which path to travel. Lovingly expropriating his mother's varied musical heritage, Klausener weaves in bits of Garifuna and other Honduran styles to build a rich canvas on which to work. With an inviting lyrical complexity that paints pictures both bright and subtle and then spreads them across a landscape of auditory hills and valleys, this is a work that needs to be viewed as a whole rather than broken up into shuffled "chapters". Beautiful, lush, whole.

This album is fantastic. The instrumentation is very refreshing, and the lyrics evoke natural imagery. The album tells a woman's story, conveying the hardship and happiness of a personal journey very effectively.
