Like many people I vaguely knew about this CD due to some radio play on Christian stations. I listened to samples on iTunes and fell in love with the CD. I'm a big fan of several of the artists on the CD and I like the folk/country/bluegrass stylings of the songs. But what drew me most was the fact that the songs are purely taken from the Word of God. This CD has been on repeat on my iPod and iTunes for a while now and I'm not tired of it. My favorites on the CD would be the following:
Altar of God by Josh Bates
Restore to Me by Mac Powell & Candi Pearson-Shelton
You Alone by Brian Littrel
Buy the CD it is worth every penny!

I was privileged to hear Mac Powell (of Third Day) sing two of the songs from this in our church service and was blown away! It is a beautiful, folksy album of worshipful songs. Highly recommended!

All the songs here are not based on scripture they are an attempt to make scripture the actual lyric. There are countless gospel and and contemporary Christian songs with scripture in them, some are even like these songs, taken right from scripture. So I guess what makes this unique is that the entire album is scripture set to music.

I guess the end result is a really solid album that it's hard to skip through, with three of four songs here geared for corporate worship. The entire CD is beautiful and these simple melodies grow on you. After having the album for a while now, I find myself hearing the songs in my head and I start longing to read the scriptures (not necessarily the verses of the song, just in general). The entire album is beautiful from start to finish.

If you like Folk and Bluegrass music you'll love these arrangements and you'll love this album. It's very refreshing to hear the talent on this CD contributing here to these, often simple songs. There seems to be a humble spirit to this album that will draw you in.

The CD was all I had hoped for. The music styles are varied and interesting, the harmonies are beautiful, and the scripture choices for lyrics are easily committed to memory. I intend to make it a gift for many people.

My only complaint is that it's too short! I could listen to songs like this for hours, and so I end up playing the CD over and over. Good thing it's such a great one that I'm not tired of it yet.

Wonderful music set to the Word of God. Uplifting and thought provoking. Perfect for bringing one closer in their relationship with God.

The songs are oldies but with a new twist sung by current Christian artists. It has a bluegrass/folk style.

If you like folksy, Appalachian music with mandolin and fiddle, you will love this CD.
It's awesome to hear Mac Powell sing this type of music :D Love it.
There are 3 songs that really stand out for me:

Come, Worship the King

These 3 songs go deep into the spirit and you can easily praise and worship the Lord. Awesome.

I would say its a close race between this cd and Shane & Shane's newest album "Pages" for worship album of the year. This cd has been a huge ministry to both me and my family as we've been through a few trying circumstaces this year. The concert for this cd was nothing short of uplifting and amazing and I was blessed to be there. Song favorites are, "Waters gone by", "To the only God", "Who is like you", and "You alone". Great cd if you like stripped down acoustic worship!

I think this is now my favorite worship CD ever.It has wonderful scriptures set to music, sung by some of my favorite artists. The songs stay with me long after the music has stopped.
