I LOVE R. Brandewyne, but this is not her best. Too many scrambles. It became confusing after a while to keep track of who's who.

The rich and famous are shocked when the heir to the Hampton fortune, Veronica Hampton Forsythe is found dead in her swimming pool. The death of a celebrity brings out the investigative powers of the police and the media as both tries to solve what appears to be a murder. In one corner stands television reporter Claire "the ice queen" Connelly. Her opponent, straight from the mean streets is police detective Jake Seringo. These combatants were once lovers when they met while Claire was doing a show on violence, that included the brutality that took the lives of Jake's wife and son. ..... In spite of their stormy past, the pair agrees to work together in finding out who killed Ms. Forsythe and why. Instead of an easy answer to their questions, Jake and Claire learn many family secrets that the Hamptons would prefer remain buried. The cop and the reporter also learn that they still harbor deep feelings for each other. As they get closer to the truth about who killed Ms. Forsythe, the intrepid duo must also look within their hearts to overcome their differences if they are to share a lifetime of happiness together. ....... GLORY SEEKERS is an intriguing romantic who-done-it that should prove to most readers that Rebecca Brandewyne is one of the best writers of romantic suspense on the market today. The lead characters are both superb players struggling to find a niche that will allow them to share a future together. The story line is a well written murder mystery that engulfs a decadent upper crust lifestyle. Fans of who-done-its and romantic suspense will devour this classy tale. ........Harriet Klausner
