This release is better than a simple 4 star rating but for me was not quite a 5 star (though very close!).

Overall, this cd kicks major butt and is flashy, artsy, interesting the whole way through with some moments of black metal voices thrown in for good measure, and VERY solid. For a first release this is actually an incredible effort that shows us these guys could be one of the dominating forces to contend with in the power metal realm. I would hate to compete against these guys with a similar style of music!

My only wish for this cd would be a little more variety overall. They obviously went for a high energy release with a few slow down moments and it worked quite well, but for my personal tastes (and who doesn't have one of those?) I would have liked a teeny weeny bit more variety between songs and perhaps a little more variety between choruses from song to song as too many of the choruses sound quite similar to me. I feel like I'm nitpicking them and that's not my intention as they truly did a great job with this overall!

These are minor complaints of mine however and I must commend Divinefire for putting out such an incredible first cd that shows much promise of domination in their field! Or at least moving them into the top 5 of power metal bands. This is a must buy cd for any power metal head who demands that they get a great product for their hard earned dollar! Divine fire delivers for sure, and is a better purchase overall than Rhapsody's latest cd. At least this is more listenable and doesn't make you bored half way through like Rhapsody sometimes does.

Can't wait to hear their newest cd Hero!

Theatrical music at it's best. Only 'Eye Of The Storm' is better than this album as far as considering music collectively on any album goes. Pick it up if you can get it for a good price. :D
