Great set of classic bluegrass gospel,

This is an awesome collection of recordings culled from the Rebel Records catalog... Don't let the Time-Life label throw you off: this is really great bluegrass from start to finish, featuring some of the finest bands of the last three decades.

I love this uplifting disc! I am a fan of the old country greats and don't know too much about bluegrass but this disc is a toe-tapping favorite already. The sound is very clean and clear. If you're not familiar with southern accents it may take a couple listens to catch the words but it is definitely worthwhile. Buy it now and enjoy!

Each selection touched my heart, especially "The Model Church". Truly, old time bluegrass gospel.

...my gospel bluegrass collection. I just started getting into bluegrass recently and fell in love with this CD when I checked it out at my library.
My mom has always been a fan and it really took her back to her younger days as we drove around listening to it in my car. I think she would have clogged to some of the songs if I would have just pulled over. LOL Right from the beginning when "Somebody Touched Me" came on I knew I had to own this CD. I couldn't wait to come over here and buy it for myself.

I really was disappointed in the songs. I was looking for something like the Gaithers music.Got what i ordered. Service was fast and I like the no hassel ordering process.

this is a great CD. I have put a lot of CDs on a USB port for my car and it just keeps delivering this great music. There are a couple of songs that really touched me. I Just Want To Thank You Lord, by The Marshall Family is just awesome and Somebody Touched Me by the Stanley Brothers is really in my heart. Thank you

This album came up as I was searching for a Bluegrass Gospel. After sampling several choices, this kept coming up as number 1 with a variety of songs and performers. It is a great album to keep in my vehicle and play when regular radio offers nothing worthwhile--and that is often. My husband enjoys it too! Clarity is good.

Pulling from the rich catalog of Rebel Records bluegrass gospel, this set has no problem being fabulous traditional bluegrass. Two Forbes Family cuts here are reissued on CD for the first time, but one of them is mislabelled. The sixth listed cut on the first CD is actually "Jesus Redeems Us," not "Blessed Assurance." Both songs are on the 1986 Forbes Family release Outside the Gate. CD 2's "Talk about Suffering" from the Forbes' I'm Just a Pilgrim gives some hint about what this sad substitution costs listeners. But it's only a hint. With the amazing lead of Lisa Forbes, "Blessed Assurance" is just about the most gorgeous, most moving harmony ever recorded. "Blessed Assurance" was long due for CD reissue. Sadly, thanks to a Time-Life error, that acapella wonder will have to wait a while.
