If you are only going to buy one CD this whole year, this is it. The Dukes are experts at what they do. Authentic New Orleans jazz played by the best in the business.

This is an uplifting CD that is sure to touch the heart and soul of all who come in contact with it. It contains some tried and true favorites, as well as some lesser knowns, and even an original, by the group's trumpet player, Kevin Clark. Kevin also produced the album and did most of the arrangements. And boy, can he ever blow that horn? Simply stylin'!. This guy has got what it takes. He'll make you sing; he'll make you dance; he'll make you clap your hands and stomp your feet; and his rendition of Amazing Grace is sure to bring a tear to your eye.

As you can see, I could not be more enthusiastic about this talented group of true Dixieland musicians. Do yourself a favor and click this one into your shopping cart right now.

Ladies and gentlemen....This is a wonderful album. It combines the sounds of dixieland and gospel in one power packed disc. I have yet to hear this kind of souful combinatio and mixing between the two styles of music - gospel and New Orleans dixieland jazz - so it was very interesting to experience it. The gospel choir they used for this album was also terrific! This album also showcases a lot of great soloists, both from the gospel choir, as well as from the Dukes of Dixieland. This album is definitely worth checking out!

When I ordered this, I thought it was by the traditional Dukes of Dixieland. It's not! Although it is somewhat better than the Dukes come lately,some tunes are over-arranged,i.e. "Just a Little While to Stay Here" and some are cutsey,i.e. "Dry Bones", but the genuine spirituals,choir, and jazz band just don't make it special. Spirituals done by Kenny Ball are far more authentic, for example. Also,see Doc Evans. I just can't help to think what the original Dukes of Dixieland would have done with these tunes.
