The wall is clean, but they won't stick.
CPellett
You should be able to sit across the room, draw on the walls where it glows brightly and have tons of fun...unfortunately not with this.
T. Scott
I love that it is an interactive toy that requires the use of your brain!

I have a 9 year old son who wanted this for Christmas. He talked about it all summer like it was the next best thing.

So he received it for Christmas. He was very excited. When it came out of the box, the thick rubber-like papers were stuffed in there very tightly. The ends were curled in order to fit in the box and...to this day they are still curled.

I imagine people are having issues with the self-stick because the paper is coiled in such a way that the pressure from mounting it to the wall is too much and it comes off.

I'll just get to it:

PRO'S

When used in the dark, it is fun to come up with games like tic-tac-toe or drawing. You can even put multiple papers together to make a big canvas.

Pen is decent and good quality. I like that it has two light features (wide and pinpoint). It is ergonomically nice and when the child holds it, it appears comfortable.

CON's

The fun lasts about as long as the light stays on the paper. For us, it's about 10 - 15 seconds. So tell me this: Look at the package in the picture. See how that kid has drawn intricate objects on the paper? THAT IS A LIE. There is no way the paper can hold the energy from the light long enough to finish a tic-tac-toe game, let alone drawing a Moon, Stars, UFO, Fence, Cow, Cowboy, Horse, 'With Light' and a shaded hand. NO WAY! I can't stand it when product makers do this. It's shady (pun intended) and it really irritates me when I see what it is supposed to look like only to have reality hit me. It reminds me of those fast food commercials where you see the juicy burger and thick tomato and special sauce only to receive a limp half-baked version of what it is supposed to be. This toy is just like that. They mis-represent the toy many times over.

The good things about this toy outweigh the bad. I actually bought 3 of these, 1 on amazon and 2 on eBay for dirt cheap, since the boxes were damaged. I wanted three because I wanted to basically wallpaper one wall in my boys' room (8 and 10 years old). One package only has about 3 big white sheets and then a few smaller colored sheets which are not as good as the white ones (drawings are too faint on the colored sheets).

There was no problem getting the sheets to stick to the walls. You have to peel off the backer. I suspect those people who had trouble getting them to stick didn't realize they had to peel the backer off.

We've had this 3 months and it's as good as the first day. Even the pointer is still going strong...have not replaced the batteries yet.

The two that I got off ebay had weaker/thinner laser pointers and I suspect these were earlier versions of this item.

This is how we usually use this item: At bedtime, I read a book to my boys, then when I'm done, we turn off the lights, and I draw a favorite scene from the story we just read. I'm no artist, and my drawings are mostly stick-figurish and shaky, but the boys love it and beg me to do it every night. It's a very rewarding/memorable/bonding time we spend together.

On the down side, I think this is over-priced for the amount of wall-clings they include.

Some people complain that the images do not last long, but they last long enough to draw a scene and admire it. It's actually a good thing that it fades, as then you can draw something new relatively soon (5 to 10 minutes later). The darker the room, and the longer it's been dark, the longer the images will last.

If you want more glowclings, I found out where you can get them: stuffedanimals dot com and search for "glow crazy bonus pack".

Bottom line is that I highly recommend this product. It's one of the few (if not the only) Christmas present we use over and over.

This is awesome. It really works. My son can lay in his bed and draw on the wall from accross the room. And he loved to make a "mural" with the little stencil pads that came with it. We hung one pad at the head of his bed, and one accross the room so he could draw from a distance. I was pleasently surprised at how well this worked.

Oh my son loved this toy. It workes great. He loved it so much he fell asleep with the pen in hand! I hung one wall on the ceiling and one on the other side wall to play. The dissapointing part was when the morning came both walls fell down. The next day they can barely stay up I have to pin them to the wall. Other than that it is a fun toy

This product kept my daughter entertained for 1 night. They are only recommended on smooth surfaces which leaves most walls and ceilings not able to place them. I don't think it matters because the sticky pages don't stay very well on the smooth surfaces either. I appreciate that they don't want to marr surfaces but it seems that there could be a better alternative like the old gum that used to hold posters on walls for years. The stencils were good but for a "distance" doodler doesn't work well, only for close doodling. Overall has some value.
