5.0 out of 5 stars Funky and uplifing, yet cool and soothing
Peter White never dissapointed me. I think his CDs are made for "Shuffle" mode. No matter what song it is, you will be listening with pure joy and happiness. Okay, here's my review:

Track 1 Chasing the Dawn. Uplifting song, great to hear when you're down, it'll bring your spirit back. 9/10

Track 2 Who's That Lady. One smooth track! 9/10

Track 3 Turn it...

3.0 out of 5 stars All that glitters Is not gold.
Sorry folks but on this occasion I feel "Glow" is not up to the high stndard previously experienced with "Caravan Of Dreams" and "Perfect Moment".Perhaps "cool" jazz Is becoming a little too cool for my taste. This Cd really doesn't excite enough and is close to background music rather than the performance I was hoping for.Peters...

Track 3 Turn it Out. Now this is funny... how can a song be uplifting and soothing at the same time? 9/10

Track 4 Bullseye. Funky! This track is so catchy, you can't help but moving your feet/hand/head.. 9/10

Track 5 Just My Imagination. This is a great song to unwind from a hectic day. 10/10

Track 6 Bueno Funk. A little bit too repetitive, but not a bad track at all. 8/10

Track 7 Glow. Very very calm and soothing. Just imagine you're on the boat, in the middle of the ocean... 10/10

Track 8 Pedro Blanco. Very spanish-feel and unique. 10/10

Track 9 When I'm Alone. Look at the credits, he did it ALL by himself! Certainly tells you how talented this man is. 10/10

Track 10 Life Story. What a beautiful and soothing melody. 10/10

Track 11 Baby Steps. This is the song that made me furiously hunting this album. This "cute" track will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. 10/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Shines Brightly, December 25, 2001

Well, I thought it couldn't get any better than PERFECT MOMENT...I was wrong! GLOW is so-o-o-o-o mellow. It's great for getting through the day at the office, great for a smooth ride, and great for just kickin' back. It didn't "click" with me until about the third playing, and then, I was hooked. I had played PERFECT MOMENT until it skipped in spots. Now, I've had to purchase an "office GLOW" and a "car GLOW". All of the melodies are smooth. This CD is certainly a "must-have" for any true Peter White (Pedro Blanco) fan!

White provides selection of tempo and mood setting numbers with varying styles which makes it a most enjoyable collection of smooth jazz to listen to.

Particularly gravitate towards "Chasing the Dawn" "Turn It Out" Bueno Funk" and "Life Story."

Other quality musicians perform well here, the likes of Rick Barun on horn. Solid keyboards.

5.0 out of 5 stars GLOW, February 6, 2002
This review is from: Glow (Audio CD)
I can hardly put into words the pleasure I get from listening to the cuts on this CD, I wish I could have given it 10 stars. I normally dont listen to smooth jazz but by chance was scanning the radio when it landed on the song TURN IT OUT (I have been converted). I have never been so caught up in piece of music. From that one song I now own every available CD he has made. I have only 2 regrets. One that I missed all those years of listening to one of the greatest guitar players/composers of our time and two that he hasn't been more prolific so I could have bought more. I have since found other artists that I like Dave, George, Russ etc... but none quite as well as Peter

5.0 out of 5 stars Unpretentious, June 6, 2004

I found this album looking for music that could be played in an Café environment: Something that is uplifting, something that just as easily goes in as it goes out, something that just as easily can be ignored as it can be enjoyed.
And yes: If I had an elevator in my house, I would play his music there 24x7.
You may play his music at a sub-low level and you may not even notice unless you tune into it. I like the clear rhytm track, and his Jazzy~Latin~Flamenco style.
I find Peter White among the finest Guitarists who seems to do his job because he LIKES what he does. And that shines through.

4.0 out of 5 stars not at the top of the stack, January 23, 2003
This review is from: Glow (Audio CD)
I heard Peter White on the radio and figured I should add his CD to my list. I always forget that I have this CD and thats a sign. I do have alot of music but, my favorites are always at the top of the stack. After I've tired of them and I'm scronging for something else I see GLOW and go, OH YEAH. Once I play it, I'm happy with it, I never go UGH and skip tracks or anything like that, but it's not enough to keep me in the car until a particular cut finishes either.

5.0 out of 5 stars My First Exposure To Peter White, July 4, 2002

I'd never heard of Peter White before hearing his music at the place where I get cappuccino. "glow" was the only Peter White CD available at a local music shop. It is fantastic. I'd never heard most of the cuts on it. "chasing the dawn" is a perfect opening. It starts softly and ramps up a kind of quiet or subdued energy in a hurry. "who's that lady" and " and "just my imagination" are super arrangements of familiar music. Although "when I'm alone" and "life story" are favorites, there is no cut on this CD that I skip to get to another. As a long distance commuter, this CD gets a lot of play time. It's soft enough to ease me into what is sure to be a hectic day and settles me out when the day been hectic. This is great music both as background when I'm working or cranked up to shut out the world. The rhythms keep a foot tapping or my head bobbing. This is an all day, all night CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peter takes it to the next level, October 17, 2001

Peter White's "Glow" is extraordinary! Stunning! Every track is a listening pleasure. Pedro Blanco, in particular, is smoooooth and elegant. Listen to "Glow" at home. Better than yoga for stress reduction. Listen in the car. The road rage will exit your body. Listen at work. You won't feel like killing the boss anymore. A beautiful CD. If you thought Mr. White had accomplished all he could with previous recordings, you will be amazed by this new release. "Glow" glows.

If you like smooth Jazz this is the CD for you. Nice clean rifts with a touch of spanish funk and classical lines. I really enjoy track 6 Bueno Funk. It reminds me of driving down a beautiful California coastline on nice sunny afternoon. You'll enjoy every song.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glowing!, December 30, 2003
This review is from: Glow (Audio CD)
The lushly-backed guitar and keyboard of Peter White combines the influences of jazz and flamenco to produce a rich, textured, upbeat tapestry of sound. Most of the cool, smooth selections were written by White and co-composer Steven Dubin. Listening to this CD is a good way to unwind at the end of a long day and receive a gentle boost of "second wind" energy to last through the evening. For other jazz recordings with interesting compositions and a similarly rich, international texture, try "Doll" by Keiko Matsui, "Mirror of Emotions" by Farzad, and "Dolphin Smiles" by Steve Kindler and Teja Bell.
