purchased this product for my 12 year old daughter. The colors change with each hour...very cool (she loved that). However, the lights lasted only less than a year, and cannot be replaced. And with a burned out bulb, the time could not be seen in the dark. It functioned this way for another 6 months or so, and now has stopped working altogether. Also, I purchased two of these (purchased at Lakeside Collection for a great price) because we liked them so well, but the other one wouldn't work at all and needed to be returned. For a novelty gift for a child, it is fine (she also liked that it functioned as a night light), just don't expect it to last very long.

This is a fun and beautiful (somewhat small clock). Maybe not bought to last forever but more of a novelty. I realized I couldn't run it on batteries alone as the batteries 4xAAA will only last days if the light is glowing all the time. Just to be clear the AAA batteries run the LEDs not the clock itself. I got a universal A/C adapter off of EBay for around 6 dollars Not shopping around. The specs you need are that it has a 4.5 voltage output and has an option or is set to negative polarity. Mine came set to negative. The plug I used was a 3.5 mm X 1.35mm female plug. The male prong was not aligned very well and i had to fiddle with it a bit to get it to fit. I am talking about the male prong one on the clock just to be clear:).

If You rely on an alarm clock to wake up every morning , Do not purchase this item.Impossible to set the time/date/alarm and all the functions without having to spend an eternity trying to figure them out. Instructions are useless. I wouldnt put my faith in this thing that you hit the right settings. The Batteries that operate the change of the color display (AAA) burn out in a day or two.DONT replace them once you find this out the hard way. Rechargeables offer the same life span. The button batteries that come with it,operate the time display, but seeing the time is difficult unless you are right in front of the cube .If you have the AC plug that is offered for this clock, then you have a slight chance of it working for a short time , but I wouldnt expect it to ... ...
My opinion: Dont waste the few bucks this thing costs.Spend a few more and buy something that works . This is closer to a Toy than a clock. Its not even a good paper weight as its not heavy enough for that ...I wouldnt give this item any stars in the rating , but it wont allow for it ...

At first glance, you can tell this clock is cheaply made. Two of the buttons on the one we got were reversed, so that took some figuring out. The light does not work well. I bought this for my 6 year old and while he did think the lights were cool, I'm not sure they have ever worked properly. The button on the bottom that allows you to push the clock down to start the light motion is very sensitive and the lights would sometimes blink erratically unless we turned it on it's side. Also, the alarm is difficult to turn off, it is a small button on the bottom of the clock. Nothing like the over-sized snooze button we are all used to. Overall, we were not satisfied with this purchase at all.

I thought I was getting a great deal. However, like they say "you get what you pay for". The price was great. The shipping was speedy. The product "EPIC FAIL". GENERIC PLASTIC MINI BOX. DOLLAR STORE SPECIAL :(

After one month only the red is left in the rotation of colors this thing is supposed to go through. So, it's red for a few seconds then dark for a lot more. Junk; just junk.

Pros: It's cheap, display is big, has a dc port, says the time, day, month, temperature, and year. It has an alarm and the buttons are easy to navigate once you begin to use them. Changes color (red, blue and green) when you press a button sometimes or when it wants to.

Cons: If you are not using DC 4.5 volt power, you will need 2 sets of batteries (4 AA for the light, and 2 round silver lithium-ion batteries, I don't know which one.) If you insert the wrong voltage into the DC and leave it there for 5 seconds, it will burn up very fast and the light won't work. Also, the instruction says it has 7 modes: birthday, time, alarm, and 4 more. However, only mine has time and alarm. Plus, I have only seen the colors red, blue, green, cyan sometimes, yellow very rarely, and orange once. Plus when you put the AA batteries in they easily pop out, the light stops working, and it is very annoying.

Conclusion: Your basic alarm clock. Other features are OK. Good for kids but not for adults.

Well its hard to set, theres 5 little buttons that are kinda hard to push, on the bottom.
The color changes frequently. Right now I got batteries in it, but it does have a hole to use a AC adapter to plug it into the wall, not included, but I plan on getting one.
The alarm doesn't seem very loud but I haven't had to wake up to it yet. Im worried if its not loud enough I may have to return it. Overall 4 stars, but I gotta get that AC adapter.
