This is by far the best crib toy/soother we have owned!! We had the 1st Fisher Price aquarium for our 1st daughter 2 years ago (it sucked up batteries and eventually quit working), and we purchased the latest Ocean Wonders Aquarium for our 2nd daughter. Both "fish tanks" have flaws: they don't run long enough, and bubbles accumulate on the inside of the aquarium wall. The music on them is a little weird as well. The Playskool Slumbertime Soother (Gloworm) is the best! You can set it to run for up to 20 minutes - finally, a toy that runs long enough to put a baby to sleep! The music is actually soothing and normal sounding, and the moving picture is unbeatable as far as holding a baby's attention! My 2 year old loves my 3 month old's Slumbertime Soother so much that I bought her one as well, and she keeps it in her bed and uses it every night. This is a GREAT gift idea for a parent with a baby of any age! Way to go Playskool!!!

We got both this and the Fisher Price Aquarium for shower gifts. So...I put both of them on our son's crib and we'd switch back and forth using one then the other. At 3 weeks old he would get so frustrated when the aquarium would turn off after only 5 mintues. Plus it is hard for newborns to make out the different little sea characters beacause they are so light in color and small in size. Plus, the music was extremely annoying to him and us. The ocean and babbling brook sounds were great but you could barely hear them if you had the bubbles turned on too. So we started using the Gloworm more and more. We love that it stays on for up to 20 minutes since it take at least 10-12 for him to drift off to sleep. I turned the volume all the way down and put a piece of tape over the speaker and it is just loud enough for him to hear it but not be kept up by it. The brightness of the screen is easily seen by newborns, but the slow moving characters are still soothing. And the musice is very pleasant, not electonic sounding like most toys. It almost sounds like a harp, we even find it relaxing. If I had to pick I would definitely go with this crib toy over any other. It was a very well thought up invention!

It actually works!!!! The screen and music is so cute and your baby will not take their eyes off it. The best thing is that you can choose how long you wnt the music to play. This is by far the best thing to own for a good nights sleep!!!!!

The Gloworm Slumbertime Soother is an excellent item for bedtime routines. My daughter, now 10 months old, is soothed to sleep every night with the music and scrolling picture show. I love the feature of setting it for different times; either 5, 12 or 20 minutes, making it much more versatile than other soothers (Aquarium). On the downside, the first Gloworm Slumbertime Soother that I purchased shorted out on us after only 3 months of use. The picture went black. After trying to replace both the batteries and lightbulb I had to send it back to the company for replacement. In the meantime, I purchased a second one (to have while waiting for the replace ment). This one had a flaw from day one ... the picture would not work at all. I tried different batteries, a different bulb and finally cleaned to contacts with rubbing alcohol, which did the trick and I did not have to return to product. Overall, this is an excellent toy and my daughter's favorite for naptime / bedtime. Playskool may need to fine-tune the connections inside to reduce the chance of the lighting feature shorting out.

When I bought this I was so happy to see that it had a timer where you can choose how long you want the music to play. The peaceful aquarium we had before this never played long enough to put him to sleep. The music and screen is adorable! You have to buy this for yourself or as a gift. You will not be sorry!!!!

I originally bought the fisher price ocean's aquarium for my son but he wouldn't even look at it. This however he likes and is occupied long enough for me to sqeeze in some chores. The music on it is pleasant also unlike the ocean's aquarium which can get kind of annoying. The only thing that might be inconvenient is having to change the light bulb when it burns out. Overall this was a good investment.

I have 3 infant grandchildren and when each of them was born we bought them a musical crib toy to sing them to sleep. We also purchased a portable crib for our house and I decided to get the slumbertime gloworm to put it. I'm glad I did. Its a bit loud but so cute and honestly works to help them go to sleep in a different bed. I see now where its 1/2 price so think that its a real deal and everyone should purchase one for their baby. Its really worth the money

We received the Oceans Wonders Aquarium and used it from birth to 9 months then received the Slumbertime Gloworm as a Christmas gift. We have both ont the crib. The Ocean Wonders Aquarium works great & I would recommend it. However along with our son, we like the Slumbertime better. It seems to help more when he's fussy and doesn't want to go down for a nap. The little bears on the sides really grab his attention and distract him from being upset when they are activated. Sometimes when it's quiet in his room I'll peek in and there he is sitting up watching it like he's watching television, then before long he's off to sleep. If fact, I'm purchasing three more today, so he goes down a little easier when visiting his Grandparents and Aunt. I would highly recommend both monitors, but if I did it all over again I would purchase the Slumbertime over the Ocean Wonders Aquarium. Reason being: More interesting for child & better settings. The Aquarium really has some issues as to how long it stays on depending on what type of water option you choose. It is also pretty loud when the bubbles are going - they overpower the music - kind of annoying. It's almost like having two different radio stations playing at the same time. Although our son does like to play with the toys on it.

it is very helpful for my doughter while changing her diaper, before she used to cry, now i can get her dressed and change her diaper easily.

I had the old Ocean Aquarium (the one that displays waves on the ceiling) and I bought this as the replacement. I like it because it plays for a maximum of 20 minutes which gives baby enough time to fall asleep. One of the features I wished the aquarium had because baby would get excited when i came in to tun it back on after 7 minutes. I also bought Dreamscapes Soother at the same time I got this. I can't compare because it had a defective lamp and the reviews say it's a battery drainer. I am very happy with this Slumbertime Gloworm. The pictures are cute and actually soothing.
