I bought the Gloworm as a gift for my two 8 mo. nieces (The product description claims it is appropriate for 6 mo. to 2 years). After fumbling around a bit to get the batteries installed (it is slightly difficult, but kid-proof once you get the batteries in), both were promptly snatched by my 2 1/2 year and 3 year nieces. They could press the "glow" feature - the infants could not. It turned into a great toy for the older girls to play with the younger ones - all of whom thoroughly enjoyed it.

Children over a year old will have fun with this toy and I suspect that it will be a cherished possession well past 2 years (at least their uncle hope so!).

This toy can stand to be beat and then cleaned and it will still work. My daughter can not go to bed without her gloworm beside her in her crib.

Babies and young toddlers can easily cuddle this toy and carry it around. My one-year old loves to hug it--and that makes it light up! When I check baby during the night, I squeeze it and the soft light lets me see where all the blankets have scattered. Love the easy care, too. If you follow manufacturers instructions and remove the battery/light assembly, the toy can be machine washed and dried inside a pillowcase.

New parents always check to make sure baby is breathing at night. We used the Gloworm for that purpose when we first brought baby home -- it's soft light didn't disturb baby and was very handy for us new nervous first-time parents!

When my little sister first got her glow-worm, we fought over who got to hold and squeeze it. I, at about 8 years old, lost interest after a while, but she, at 6 years old, loved it fiercely. It was her comforting friend at night, both at home and at slumber parties and nights away from home.

The batteries never seemed to die, and the toy stuck around for years, it seemed, even after being dropped many times from the upper bunk!

Has anybody noticed that Gloworm has been shrinking over the past few years? When Gloworm first arrived, he was about 12 inches and green. Then they went to the Pink or Blue gloworm in the mid 90's. Then it was the pink or blue fleece with stars, then the 4 segment multicolored gloworm and now, the poor guy is three segments and smaller than an adults hand. The poor little guy is now a runt! Not that this is a major problem, but at least when gloworm was 4 segments, a small child could hug gloworm and hang onto it. Now its more like a playpen toy. Not very reassuring. Heck, they even changed his/her friendly face to somthing that looks comical. POOR GLOWORM!

my daughter loves it and her brothers love playing with it to try and make her laugh. Its lots of fun watching all of them and then she has something to keep her company at night.

I love this toy, but my daughter somehow ends up sleeping on top of it and makes the batteries go down faster. I replace batteries at least every 3 months. She also doesn't play with it near as much as I thought she would. My nephew had one, though, and loved it!

This is the second generation for this family having Gloworm. I bought one for my daughter's first Christmas and now she is expecting her first child in February. I have bought one for a shower gift. She well remembers her Gloworm, as she had it for a long time, and has said she wants her baby to have one also.

I bought the Gloworm for my grandbaby's first Christmas.Had I known that it was going to be so useful,I would've bought it before she was born.It's not only a toy,but a nightlight as well and it scares away the "boogie-bears" with a simple squeeze.She's 10 years old now and still has it and it still lights up,it's a wonderful product,what a wonderful first toy for baby.Thank you Amazon.com.
