1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT GET THIS GAME November 23, 2011
By E. Dunn
Edited again, Mar 10, 2012.

And,if you go through the positive reviews, you'll notice they are STILL posting B.S. comments from fake users to "gin up" the rating of this awful, sneaky, stealing REAL money, game. I wish Amazon would remove the fake reviews so that the game would get the ONE star it deserves.

Edited: Jan 2, 2012 Just a commentary, at the end of the review.

This is an evil gaming company. This game is designed with children in mind. However, when you install the game, please take note of the warnings about what it wants to access (and for that matter, be sure to check ANY app you install - if it wants to access your account information on the store, I'd avoid it).

Horror story:

We install the game, and it seems innocent and cute. My five year old starts playing and enjoys the heck out of it. My wife gets an email about a $99 charge from the market. In shock, she pulls up the email, and then pulls up our online bank account information.

Turns out, the "in game" money can be purchased, not just by doing tasks in the game, but with real world money. I reloaded the game on my tablet and couldn't find a spot that actually even offered $99 purchases, only about $15, but kids will be kids, I guess. She had no idea what the value of $99 or that it was even "real money."

It gets worse.

Somehow, we get emails saying we were charged this $99 charge, FIVE TIMES.

As we watched $500 in hard earned cash go flushing down the toilet, we tried to contact our bank before the charges went through. Turns out, unless it was fraud, there was nothing they could do.

You can add a few houses and items to the village but then you max out and have to use real money to purchase game "coins" for new buildings. This could get expensive.

1.0 out of 5 stars dont play! January 19, 2012
Verified Purchase
This is a free app until you buy things for your village. I understood that and really enjoyed the game UNTILL....... I went to play only to find my village wiped out. There was no way to get it back. All the money that I spent was gone. Please dont get hooked like I did. STAY AWAY!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Aimed at kids, got hit as well. December 24, 2011
Thank goodness I had a bank card that doesnt allow you to overdraw. Young son was playing game and five minutes later had 75 dollars in charges on my credit card. Couldnt figure out how it happened. Saw the company, saw what it was for and a few moments later I had blocked everything, however, I still dont have my 75 dollars. I went through the steps to buy things and if you are young you wouldnt know what you are doing. I paid the bill but have passwords on everything now. Lesson learned. Regardless, if you are a company marketing to younger children in todays age well, shame on me for not seeing it and shame on you for doing it.

The game is marked towards kids, not adults. It is underhanded how they get the money. It is linked directly to your account. You can play without money but getting extras costs and spending money to get the things is way to easy. This is more of a pay to play game then anything else.

Now it is 1/7/2011 and while I still allow my kid to play the game I control the coins he can get. I have him work around the house and let him buy coins on friday. unfortunately while this is cool the game has a possibility to just restart so not only did I get charged for the original moneys, the game restarted and I have now lost 100 dollars total in this company with nothing to show for anything. bad bad company. The game is fun and I dont mind having my kid play it, it is just a sneaky way to earn money.

To make matters worse, when you go to earn coins, as I have tried, I have yet to get any coins. I should have gotten about 20 but have gotten 0.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ack! Beware the sneaky sneakiness! December 27, 2011
By LewieG
It's pretty obvious what this company's model is. Get parents to get this game for their children (there are *tons* of parents who do this sort of thing). They hand a device to their kids who then charge a couple hundred for-real-type dollars. Parents can't get money back, Glu laughs their way to the bank, kids are none the wiser.

General caveat for parents with ANY game you're getting for your kids: play it a little first - see if the game is trying to leverage your children's naivete to profit (can they download other paid games? are there in-game purchases they could make? are there questionable ads that are placed for little fingers to click on that may take them to unsavory sites?) - these companies are downright scary and it makes me sad that Amazon would feature stuff like this on their Kindle Fire apps main page. Where's the customer-centricity in that Amazon? Or is the 30% of the in-app purchases too tempting to put the customer first?

1.0 out of 5 stars Bug game that is bugged! April 2, 2012
I down loaded this game a few days ago and really like it at first. however two things have since changed my mind. first is that it wants to access my Facebook account to see if my friends play it also. keep in mind that this will also give the company access to your personal account which they can then access your personal info, pictures, contacts. next is that around level 12 my village was suddenly gone. There does not seem to be anyway to get it back so all that time was a waste. Do yourself a favor and read all the comments, especially the negative ones. most games like this one offer in gale credits for five star ratings because they know their game is deceptive in nature and that is the only way to get a good rating!
